Review by Arun from Stanmore We have been visiting Duquesa for many years, used to be quiet and very Spanish. Unfortunately it is now becoming too developed and too touristy. I am planning to look at other distinations. The place is still charming and easy to get to.
Review by Val from nottingham Not having visited the Costa Del Sol before, we had some reservations that the area would be over commercialised and tacky. We were however pleasantly surprised, because although there was a British influence on the area, (we were able to make ourselves understood at all the bars, resaurants & shops) it didnt detract from the Spanish feel. The port is delightful with a wealth of restaurants and bars, many of them providing live music throughout the week, and very reasonably priced. Although we hired a car and had some wonderful trips into the mountains nearby, where we saw eagles, vultures and other amazing wildlife, and some of the surrounding towns, we would have been perfectly happy staying in the resort to enjoy pleasant coastal walks, or lazing by the pool or sea shore. Our two teenage daughters were safe to go off on their own and found plenty to occupy themselves. Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanting peace and quie t during the day but some liveliness in the evenings, which doesnt involve lager louts or pulsating nightclubs. , ... more
Review by Brigitte from Rhyl We loved the facility, but we didn't know anything about the area. We didn't want to do 'typical' holiday activities like the zoo or water park, because we could do that at home. We wanted a unique experience that would always remind us of our fab holiday in Spain. Thankfully our apartment had a stack of brochures in a drawer. I went through all of them and we found a catamaran tour that had dolphins swimming along side the boat which was amazing!! And we found a fantastic spanish restaurant on a hillside with an amazing view of the sun setting over the Mediterranean Sea. These activities, along with the apartment made this holiday for us. The only criticism I would have is that we really wanted to find a market and the information and directions were poor.
