Review by Review by visitor In the three days that my husband, daughter and I were in Madrid, I feel like we saw all of the highlights, the Prado Museum, the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the beautiful Retiro Park. Lots of walking tours took us to many places we'd like to explore if we ever return to Madrid. What a great city!
Review by Karen from Manlius, NY Madrid is fascinating. What a terrific blend of major European city and old world charm. it is a big city and can be a bit pricy but there are many ways to thoroughly enjoy a trip there. Grocery stores were plentiful so renting an apartment is the way to go. There is so much art and history. The Palace is a must see. The museums are wonderful and varied. Dining at little neighborhood restaurants is the way to experience culinary delights. I would love to go back and explore near-by towns.
Review by Chris from Belfast Madrid is a wonderful location to visit for a break. The city has a great vibe of life about it and is very colourful with people and places. The history of this Spainish capital is awaiting to be explored and we enioyed doing it. The restaurants offer fine dining and the nightlife is very much alive. Madrid is a must see city in Spain and I will certainly return to the city again.
Review by Anna from Durango Madrid is a beautiful city. The architecture leads you through the main thoroughfares and the back cobbled streets. Make sure you look up. There are always surprises up there. Trees and flowers on high apartment balconies, statues at the tops of imposing buildings. This is a city for the pedestrian. We can walk everywhere. Both main streets and side streets have frequent pedestrian crossings. The narrow, one-way streets offer you sidewalks protected by bollards. Walking here is just a delight. If you choose not to walk, then the metro can take you wherever you want to go: clean and efficient and great value. Museums, parks, shopping, cafes, restaurants and nightlife all night. Madrid can be whatever you want it to be.
