Review by Patricia from Fetcham, Surrey If you like to get out and about, a car is essential. There are several small towns nearby that have local markets, lots of beautiful chateaux to amble round, plenty of wine tasting to indulge in and even a zoo to visit! There is also a fantastic riding school in Samur, where you can watch the beautiful horses doing amazing dressage exercises. Larger towns, like Angers, are perfect for shopaholics and there are chocolatiers and patissieres galore, so expect to put on some weight during your stay! The surrounding countryside is beautiful and very peaceful, and the local people are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Review by Mark from Deal We had a great day out cycling along the Loire, hired a couple of bikes, leisurely ride, beautiful scenery, lunch and a bottle of wine to help the aching joints!
Review by Linley from Auckland, New Zealand For my partner and I coming from New Zealand we found this part of France to be exactly as we had imagined - with lots of friendly little villages all nearby to the gite and all with the usual amenities but we had to remember to get there during opening hours!! The wine of course was fantastic - even on a par with the excellent wine we now produce here! The locals were always willing to help us with any queries we had and all helped us along with our basic understanding of the language. A great holiday for us and it's always great to be able to put down roots for at least a week and really get the feel for a partiuclar little village. Thanks to the owners Kim and John for allowing us to use their lovely gite.
