Review by PATRICK from CANADA Manila as you know is a big city and very populated so if over look the traffic, smog and street people then you would see the city has a few things to offer, there are sites to see and alot of the people are friendly. You have to watch where you go in the city but its like that wherever you go in this world. I had an aquaittance with me to show me around and how to get around so overall its not a bad place to visit, you just have to take the city for what it is worth, have an open mind and enjoy your stay.
Review by geoff from llantrisant well i loved makati, though a huge shock as far as culture lol, wot i payed and spent fr 3 weeks in asia would have got me just a 14 day holl in europe, its an experience never to be missed, and wow they dont have a lot but are very polite and respectfull
Review by Gloria from England Metro Manila is a shopping haven for shopaholics like us and it's a real value for money. Yes, traffic is a nightmare but you'll forget all about this once you're inside the huge shopping malls where food, entertainment, etc. are all very reasonable.
Review by Elinor from Canada I am more of an environmetalist and Manila, similar to Bangkok and other crowded cities in Asia has very poor air quality index. It is mainly due to all the emissions from too many vehicles on the road. And,unless something is done to at least minimize this, more and more of the population will succumb to many respiratory ailments, lung cancer being the worst and deadliest.
Review by Jeremy from Louisiana Manila is a nice place to visit for couples looking for fun. The night life is booming with clubs offering great prices on alcohol. If your not much for clubs and want something more romantic head to the beautiful park. we paid a few pesos there to visit the Orchardaruim which was full of beautiful foilage and asthetics. The park also has a scaled version of the philippines and on a cool day it was nice to sit up against a tree and hold onto the woman of your dreams. Afterwards if you are looking for something exciting and different to do, visit the Manila zoo. While your there go to the petting zoo and have your picture taken with gators, snakes, huge turtles, a pop belly pig, and all sorts of birds. Shopping in Manila was great as well. We visited 2 SM malls. The Mall of Asia boasted as the largest mall in Asia and trust me it was big and beautiful. I took my lover ice skating there for her first time, and it was awesome. The other mall was smaller, but full of helpful people and good stores. We even found a karaoke booth where we sang songs until the mall closed. Fo traveling in Manila you have your choice of the tricycle, jeepney, or taxi. I'd suggest a taxi in the city since they are air conditioned and it can get pretty hot waiting in traffic. Lastly, if you don't mind taking a trip away from the city you must visit Hidden Valley Springs and stay for the night. For a man and his special someone a night there is like a romantic tropical getaway. It's a place that will leave a lasting impression on my mind. In fact after we went my fiance said she fealt like she just went on her honeymoon. Lastly when you leave manila by airplane make sure to bring 750 pesos for the airport so you dont have to use the ATM just to board your plane. Welp have fun and enjoy your trip. ... more
