Review by Robert from Birmingham Moraira is a very family friendly place . The local people are friendly and helpful and the area felt safe to take young children into at night . We found some excellent restaurants that were not very expensive and the food was very good . It was nice to stroll around the shops then sit and watch the world go by outside a local bar . There are lots of historic sights not too far away from Moraira with beautiful surroundings and then there is a Go - Karting track to liven up a couple of hours .The choice of things to do suits all personalities but still maintains a welcoming atmosphere .
Review by Lynn from Montreal Moraira is a small quiet village, but with a lot of shops and restaurants - that is exactly what we were looking for. People in Moraira are very friendly and happy to help always. The beach is right in the center of Moraira. We loved it, would like to go back to Moraira again - summer 2009 !!!!
Review by Maxine from St Neots Moraira is set in a picturesque area of Spain. The terrain is very hilly and would therefore be unsuitable for some; choose your property location carefully if you like to be able to walk to resturants etc. The mpas do not show how steep and hilly the area is. The beaches are clean, calm and child friendly, not too crowded even in August. Lots of supermarkets and convenient stores dotted around as well as a good choice of resturants for all budgets. Jalon has excellent wine which can be sampled brought by the litre and is not only delicious but cheap too. A car is must if you want to explore and take in the surrounding villages and stunning scenery.
Review by karen from lytham st. annes Moraira is the least developed of the towns on the costa blanca and by far the most attractive. Both beaches are lovely and safe and are supervised by lifeguards. The shops are small and interesting and thereare a large number of very good independently run restaurants (no Mc Donalds here!). The large free car park is a bonus and the children enjoyed the fair at the far end of the carpark which is open nightly in the summer months. The market is held on a friday in the car park and is interesting and good value although it is difficult to park on market day so get there early! There are craft stalls in the town centre on summer evenings and there was a free open air rock concert in front of the castle while we were there.
Review by Review by visitor Moraira is a charming town blessed with stylish cafés offering an array of home cooked fare, traditional Spanish meals and locally caught fish.Well worth a visit is the small port where fish auctions take place every morning at 10am (except Sundays). Just 500m from the fish market you will come across Morairas closest beach: Platja de lAmpolla, but for a really chilled out option, about 1.5 km North of the centre is Platja del Portet: an ideal spot for golden sands, bathing with turquoise waters of relaxing with a cold beer from one of the cafés overlooking the beach. For the more adventurous, travel South of Moraira where the beaches are rocky rather than sandy... ideal for snorkelling.
