Review by member from Essex Playa Blanca was very quiet and peaceful. We couldn't believe how clean it was not a bit of rubbish insight. In the main town there was a choice of many different restaurants from chinese to steak to fish, a wide variety for everyone. Also a variety of pubs and cocktail bars and lovely playgrounds for children to play in.
Review by Rachel from Gloucester Playa Blanca was not a disappointment on this, our 3rd visit. In the 5 years since our last, it has managed to grow extensively, whilst maintaining it's more exclusive, upmarket appeal. The new builds have been done thoughtfully & tastefully, adding to, rather than detracting from the resort. The marina area at Rubicon has an elegant boardwalk to stroll around, whilst fish swim underneath you & luxury yachts bob at their moorings. A stroll around here whilst the market was in town was a thoroughly pleasant experience, unlike the chaos & grime of many a holiday market! There was also a mini mall with good size supermarket, clean public toilets & restaurants along the boardwalk. One of these had the brainwave of selling rotisserie chickens to take away, which added to a couple of baguettes made a superb picnic on the safe, white sandy beach 5 mins walk away. This walk is via a wide paved promenade which takes you the whole length of the resort, so you can have an hour or so leisurely stroll with only pedestrian traffic whilst observing the continually changing scene out on the water! In my book, that's what holidays are all about!

Review by member from SWakefield Playa Blanca is a small, well kept resort. It has plenty of bars and restaurants where great food is served. There is a wide variety of food on offer from juicy steaks to traditional tapas and freshly caught seafood all reasonably priced and well cooked. The locals are friendly and welcoming and look after you well. The beach itself is small but clean with showers and overlooks the harbour which the ferry to Furteventura leaves from half hourly, this has the unusual benefit of creating some lovely waves whenever the ferry comes into or leaves the harbour! All in all this resort is a great place for families or perhaps older couples but for those who like the raging nightlife and party atmosphere may find it a little too quiet!
Review by Janet from Sale, Manchester You can meander along the prom right up to Marina Barbicon if need be, about a 30 minute stroll. No time-share touts and you are not accosted to go into restaurants. This year value for money was not the same bearing in mind the euro to the pound, but you can still eat reasonably cheap. Casas Del Sol is well managed, clean and well maintained. Even if we holiday elsewhere, we will always have a week in Playa Blanca once a year.
Review by Julie from Teignmouth We stayed in Dec 2008 and unfortunately the weather was not good. But what a great place to stay in that situation we went for rest and relaxation and we certainly got that. The Villa was beautiful and a great location and views. All the rooms are very big and more than big enough for 4 people it was beautifully clean. The down sides were, on the pictures it shows a double bed yet when we got there both rooms had two single beds (this was disappointing for us both). Not being overlooked is a fair comment but the occasionally walker walking passed the villa garden wall as a short cut was a bit un nerving (when your not expecting it).The other disappointing thing was the BBQ, with the weather being so bad last year we were looking forward to a BBQ whilst we was there. But on arrival we found it was old, warn and dirty. :p>   Overall we love the villa and given that there are so many in Lanzarote we was very lucky to have found this one and would defo go back again and again.   In regards to the walk to Playa Blanca- its fair to say that we are avid walkers and even at a normal pace it took 45 mins to walk to Playa Blanca , also bare in mind that whilst we was there all the street lamps were out so it would make it difficult for you to walk the coastal rout at night. Im sure will be very pleasurable in the lighter nights.   To the owners of the villa.. Thank you for putting your villa up for rent, and the pool maintenance guys are so friendly and helpful     ... more
