Review by David from St Davids Pollensa is the real Mallorca. You feel that you are amongst a real local community that you quickly feel part of. The town is vibrant and feels lived in, and yet within ten minutes you can be in the tourist bustle of the Port, or in 30 mins up into the total tranquility of the Mallorcan mountains. If you are into self-catering then Pollensa is a dream, and when you don't want to cook for yourself then there is a vast variety of traditional style restaurants to choose from. Pollensa is not what most people think of when considering Mallorca, but perhaps they should.
Review by Iain from Airdrie Pollensa has always been a favourite of mine. It never seems overcrowded and has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is plenty to do and with a picturesque setting, you won't get better.
Review by Roger from West Midlands Villa Can Pax was fantastic. The description was accurate. We had a fabulous holiday which was enhanced by the family who owned the villa, who were so helpful, and friendly. They supplied us with local produce, most of which came from their land. They could not do enough for us. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them, and we would highly recommend their villa.
Review by Tim from Stamford Pollensa is a super town - theres the inland bit , a typical old spanish country with a nice square with good quality restaurants and bars. Not a noisy disco resort ....The port is just a perfect beach town with a nice promenade and places to eat. A decent marina , and the whole place feels reasonably upmarket. You also are not far from Formentor which is arguably the most spectacular part of Majorca with stunning coastline scenary. Theres a nice but crowded beach there too but I wasnt impressed with the food at the 5 star Hotel Formentor - much better to try the local reastaurants and save your wallet a pounding
Review by Charlotte from Crosthwaite We stayed in Pollensa over Christmas & New Year and were delighted that it wasn't a 'closed' tourist destination but a vibrant, lived in town. Shops, supermarkets, a good range of restaurants and bars were open and very welcoming all within easy walking distance. Don't drive into town, you'll get lost or stuck down the narrow cobbled streets! The market on the Sunday is well worth a stroll round as is the rest of the old town - brilliant views from the top of 'the steps'. Everybody gathered in the square for New Years Eve celebrations which with a band playing were highly entertaining. Easy access to Mallorcan main roads made Pollensa a good centre for visiting the rest of the island, important for our group of walkers, cyclists and climbers.
