Some of the town is so old that wheelchair users may be restricted to the wonderful shops. Traffic is light & therfore is a delight for cyclists!! The beaches & scenery beat the Algarve hands down. If you're there for the history, you should be aware that there is very little information available in English, so do your own research before you go. Also, our car was broken into, and the police indicated this is not unusual. So, don't leave any valuables in your car!
