Review by Maria from London Safety - good (24 hour manned gated community, plus always a few golfers about). Clean - community was clean and well kept. Quite and peaceful. Views - lake and golf course very nice. Well Placed - disney only 20 minutes on a straight forward route so no getting lost. Seaworld and other attractions not far away either. Property management - our villa was managed by nice english couple - nothing too much for them. Review by Martin from Calgary Southern Dunes is located about 20 minutes south of Walt Disney World. It is extremely easy to get to. Within the gates of the resort it is quiet and feels safe. There is an excellent 24 hour Walmart immediately outside the main entrance. Just across the busy highway there are numerous bars and restaurants that we walked to. These businesses seem to cater to locals so they are much more reasonably priced than the Disney resorts and Kissimmee area restaurants. It is really nice to meet the local Floridians as well. Although I would have preferred to be closer to WDW, in the end we were very glad to have stayed at Southern Dunes resort. Review by karen from edinburgh Southern Dunes is very peaceful and idilic, it is a world away from the busy disney/universal theme parks. We have stayed there four times and would definately go back.
