Review by Sean from Emyvale, Co Monaghan, Ireland Tavira is an unspoilt town with loads of interesting buildings and the town pavillion along the river looks fantastic at night. The local festivals had great atmosphere and the live music / singers were excellent, enough to get you you in the mood to go out and dance with the locals. The restaurants along the the river are of an excelent standard and fresh fish of all descriptions is a must try for anyone visiting, I'm only sorry we didnt go to them sooner to try all they had to offer with excellent value for money. The shops offer a lot of holiday mementoes at very reasonable prices and there is something for everone with the variety of shops along the river and in the market square. Tavira is a town where you can go to each day and find something new and exciting.
Review by Craig from Halifax Excellent place to visit although 10 nights was just enough. Great value for money as the weather was superb. Flight is only a short one as well which is great as we have a young family but if you want loud and lively it's not the place to be.
Review by Glenis from Wednesbury Tavira is a very old scenic small Portuguese city situated in the Eastern Algarve on the Rio Galeo within 20 minutes of small quiet beach. Unlike the Western Algarve the terrain is less harsh and more suited to people who find steep roads and paths difficult. With mountains to the rear of the city and the Rio Formosa salt beds leading to the sea, the area is awash with wildlife nestling amongst ancient remains.

Review by Gemma from Bournemouth Tavira has many places to discover such as the old churches and castle ruins. The amphitheatre located in the town centre was in the evening a great place to relax after a meal and watch the evenings entertainment be it musical or dancing. You can view the town on the road train or in a horse drawn carriage and the tourist office offer many trips to other towns i.e waterparks in Faro. The food was very nice and very reasonably priced.
