Some would say that Puerto del Carmen is past its hey day and maybe even tacky - I disagree, I think it gives you the best of both worlds, nice beaches coupled with lots of restaurants and shops. If you rent a nice well located apartment you can be in the bustle when you wish and away from all when you want to relax, it's the perfect location!

Puerto del Carmen near Tias has something for everyone. The old town is the ideal place for a quiet, romantic evening out where you can enjoy local cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. The new town is more vibrant with an endless choice of restaurants, bars and clubs. The Biosfera shopping centre caters for all tastes and price ranges. The long stretch of golden sandy beach is always popular with both couples and families whilst the smaller beach near the old town offers a quieter place to enjoy the sunshine. Puerto del Carmen is the ideal base from which to explore the island. Car hire is reasonable and there are also many different organised coach trips available.
