A new property set in the truly unspoilt town of Datca on the beautiful Turkish Mediterranean coast. Villa Diva offers spectacular views of the mountains and a perfect restful base from which to explore the rugged Datca peninsula.

The interior design combines simple comfort with a Turkish ethnic influence - rich dark wood furniture, Turkish carpets and floor cushions and even a working fireplace for our winter visitors.

From the kitchen and open-plan dining area, walk through the French doors to the terra-cotta patios and Mediterranean-inspired garden with a 6-seater table and chairs, large shade and barbeque.

Upstairs via the spiral stone staircase are two double bedrooms each with a balcony and en-suite bathroom decorated with beautiful Turkish Iznik tiles.

In the villa there are plenty of books and information on Datca and Turkey, including help on basic Turkish as the owners know guests will get more from their stay if they know even a few words in the language. You will also find back copies of the beautiful English language magazine "Cornucopia", a kind of National Geographic dedicated to Turkey.
There is a great selection of DVDs, modern novels, plus games and even a Badminton set.

Villa Diva is set amongst the small complex of Marphe Villas and built of Turkish stone with great care and attention paid to landscape gardening including antique urns, old millstones and Turkish Iznik tile details. It was designed by an award-winning Turkish architect and mirrors an old Ottoman street with overhanging balconies.

The large communal pool has loungers and umbrellas and is only a quick skip down the steps from Villa Diva.

Guests have access to Marphe Villas' sister complex, Marphe Hotel, just across the road. There is a pool and a restaurant that can also deliver cooked food to Villa Diva. Guests at Villa Diva are welcomed at Marphe Hotel for information or for assistance at any time. 

Datca is the perfect location for people who want to discover Turkey and the wonderful welcome of the Turkish people. Here you will find tranquility and calm especially if you explore the beautiful rugged countryside just over the mountains, either on a drive around the villages or on one of the many walks we recommend in our Welcome Book.

Datca is said to have one of the healthiest climates in the world due its position between the Aegean and Mediterranean seas and sheltered by the mountains. There is always a breeze so it doesn't get the oppressive summer stickiness of other Turkish resorts. Spring is also a lovely time to visit Datca as the air is full of the smell of Almond and Orange Blossom with a fantastic display of wild spring flowers.

At the tip of the peninsula (38 km from Datca) stands the ancient Carian city of Knidos, described by Strabo as "a city that was built for the most beautiful of goddesses, Aphrodite, on the most beautiful of peninsulas." Today Knidos is considered as the border between the Mediterranean and Aegean seas where these two waters mix. It also offers a good anchorage for boats.

A car is useful, but not essential to explore the area. You can rent a motorbike from Marphe Hotel or hire a local taxi for the day. All the villages can be reached by local dolmus or minibus. 

There is a colourful market every Saturday where you can buy great local produce such as olive oil, cheese or honey or pick up an 'authentic' reproduction t-shirt or two!

With its location on a long straggly peninsula (in some places in the centre just a few hundred metres wide), the Datca peninsula offers many beaches and bays to discover by car, boat or by foot. You can always find a restaurant or two offering fresh fish caught that day.

The nine small Turkish villages dotted across the peninsula are proud of their individuality and even boast accents in Turkish that are peculiar to each village! The neighbouring village of Eski Datca, with old Greek houses and a few cafes, is great to wander around in the late afternoon.

Knidos
We would recommend a trip by car or motorbike to Knidos for a picnic by the ruins or as part of an all-day boat trip from Datca.

Boat Trips
All-day or half-day boat trips from the harbour to the many bays around the peninsula can be arranged including an itinerary of your choice and lunch freshly cooked on the boat. We recommend Aydin Kaptan completely. He is a retired Blue Voyage captain with years of experience and really knows how to look after his guests for the day. He speaks English and can be found on his boat Damla in the harbour in the evenings or there is a phone number in our Welcome Book.

Windsurfing & Scuba Diving & Walking
There are 2 windsurfing sites within 10 and 20 minutes’ drive from Datca and there are dive centres in Datca town and Aktur.

There are different walks that you can make around the beautiful countryside surrounding Datca. We have translated many of the routes especially for our guests and you can find them in the Villa Diva Welcome Book.

Festivals and Events in the Area - Datca is famous for its olive oil, almonds and honey and so the festivals reflect its delicious produce.

April:
Almond Rice Day presented by the students of the Hotel and Tourism College
23rd April is a National Holiday – Children’s Day where school children parade through the streets of Datca on their way to the grand finale on Republic Square down by the harbour.

August:
Datca / Knidos Almond Fesitival including a best almond fesitival!
30th August - Bull Wrestling, but not like in Spain! Here the bulls wrestle each other.

September:
1st Sept - A joint celebration between Datca and the Greek island of Simi including swimmers from either side who swim to meet each other across the water! 

The owners love to cook so have made sure the kitchen is fully equipped for those fellow foodies. The view from the garden is of the mountains that go down to the sea.

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the Living room. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming calls only.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, a balcony, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find water skiing, climbing, mountain biking, scuba diving.
