Our holiday domicile FONTANA CALDA is situated at the bottom of SAN CALOGERO mountain, which is very famous all over the world due to its natural vapour bath grottoes, good for rheumatism and neuralgia therapy. Our estate is about 4 km from the town centre of Sciacca and also from the sea, situated in a rural and very peaceful idyll of about 50.000 square meters in the middle of a grove of olive-trees (the oldest of our olive trees is about 2000 years!). In our large villa, we live in the ground floor: my husband Massimo, Sicilian (a very simpatico one), our son David, 1/3 German + 2/3 Sicilian (that's what he says) and last but non least me, Doris, German (who is living here in Sicily for more than 10 years). Part of our family is also Rubbia, our lovely dog and our cats Chip & Chop.
The four brand new (June 2004), nice and cosy apartments are situated on the first floor (mansard). All units are fully equipped with TV, Hi-Fi, fridge, toaster, heating, air condition, standing fans, linen and towels weekly change, our Olive Oil extra vergine during your stay, garden furniture (sunshade, chairs, table, storm lantern, candels), clotheshorse etc.
All our guests can use the washing machine, the iron and ironing board, and our internet to check or send emails. Happy to announce that our apartments now has Wifi, so bring your own laptop and surf the internet at top-speed.

SCIACCA (ca.40.000 inhabitants) is situated in the middle of the ancient Greek temples itinerary, on the famous archeological road between Selinunte and Agrigento. It's one of the oldest towns in the island. Sciacca is noted mostly for its Thermal Spa complex, it's beautiful beaches, and it's numerous artisan shops which specialize in ceramic ware.
Within few minutes drive you will find restaurants, pubs, banks, supermarkets, post office, hairdressers, cinemas, museum, churches and other visitor attractions. Within ten-minutes drive you will reach the finest beaches (rocks or sand, as you like).
There is an abundance of good, reasonably priced eating establishments in the area. These include pizzerias and restaurants. Anything from the plain and reasonably priced, to the more sophisticated palate are catered for.

From Sciacca you can easily reach the most important sightseeing of Sicily in approximately 1 hour drive:
Palermo - 90 km; Selinunte - 30 km; Segesta - 75 km; Eraclea Minoa - 25 km; Agrigento/Greek temples valley - 55 km; Monreale and Erice - 75 km; Piazza Armerina with its antique Roman villa and mosaics - 140 km;
 

All units are furnished with heating and air conditioning. The price includes: Rental of the accommodation, water, gas, bed sheets, towels, blankets, iron and board, parking, washing machine etc.. Complimentary "Welcome hamper" on arrival. Also, an excellent calibre of housekeeping (including linen, towels and blankets) is provided.

The apartment comprises 1 bedrooms in total; 1 double and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 3 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The apartment has satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 3 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cooking utensils.

Nicholas says: "The house is set in an olive grove (containing one of the oldest in Italy) with magnificent views around - M. San Calagero close by and the mountain town of Caltabellotta (definitely worth a visit) in the distance. Doris is an ideal hostess, welcoming, unobtrusive, but always there if needed. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable with a large terrace facing south east. Beaches are a drive away - but worth it for the day. All the Greek heritage sites are an easy drive. Segesta and Selinunte (which has beaches nearby) are not to be missed. Sciacca itself deserves some time. View it from the end of the harbour wall!"
