Solar de Santo António is located in a quiet rural environment, only 1,8 Km from the internationally famous area of Montechoro and its beaches and day and night activities. Restaurants can be found within 500 meters, and a supermarkert is 800 m distant. Faro airport is 38 Km away.

Built in traditional algarvian style, Solar de Santo António consists of 3 independant apartments, each with 2 bedrooms with built-in closets (one twin, one double), living room with satellite TV and sofabed, fully equipped kitchen with dining table and chairs, and terrasse with garden furniture. Water heating through solar panels.
Apartments A and B have 2 bathrooms.
Apartment C has only one bathroom.
One of the bedrooms in apartment B has air-conditioning and no windows.

Apartments share a green garden, BBQ and a kidney-shapped swimming pool (9 x 5,5m) with pool shower, long chairs and parasols.

June until September: daily maid service, except Sundays and bank holidays.
rest of the year: twice weekly maid service.
 

Now a lively resort with loads of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, Montechoro has developed quite substantially over the years with music bars and discos to while away the balmy evenings. The famous "strip" now bustles and pulsates with plenty of amenities. It is a short drive away from the centre of Albufeira. 

The progress has turned Albufeira into a city with tourism and leisure as its vocation. The streets in the hold Cerro da Vila (mediaeval area) still preserve the picturesque appeal of whitewashed houses and steeply narrow streets. In Travessa da Igreja Velha, an old moorish arch indicates the place where stood a primitive mosque, later transformed in the town's first church.

On the beach, the bright colours of the fishing boats contrast with the blue of the sea. Indifferent to the tourists sunbathing nearby, the fishermen carry on the task of mending and preparing the nets, as they have done for hundreds of years.

A walk by the sea will offer you a magnificent view over the city, the beaches and the cliffs which are part of the charm of Albufeira. The sidewalk leads to the pretty cave at Xorino, where according to the local tradition the Moors took refuge when the town was reconquered by the Christians in the 13th century.

A lovely place. Very comfortable and it had all facilities we needed. An iron was even supplied when we requested it! The pool area was wonderful with sun beds and umbrellas provided, and a great barbecue too so we could eat "al fresco". The pool was also maintained very well, with the owner coming to check levels and clean it on a daily basis. One of the rooms had air conditioning as it had no windows but we felt that the other bedroom could have done with this too, as, even though it had a window, it was uncomfortably hot at night. On the whole, we feel that we would return to this lovely place in the future as it was in a perfect location to access the many facilities afforded by the Algarve.
