Beautiful country house in typical Alentejo style, 5 Km from Cercal (shopping facilities), 15 minutes from the beaches of Milfontes and 30 minutes from Porto Covo. The area is ideal for walks or bicycle rides, the nearby beaches are inserted in the protected area of the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina, often providing astonishing landscapes, and local restaurants have a wide offer of regional dishes, including fish and shellfish. It is 150 km from Faro airport and 180 km from Lisbon airport.

Furnished in typical Alentejo style, with wood ceilings and totally equipped, the house consists of 3 double rooms, 1 mezzanine with 2 twin beds and 1 single sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, living room with TV (national channels only), open fireplace and double sofa bed, dining area and fully equipped open plan kitchen.

Located in rural environment and surrounded by a bucolic landscape, it has a pleasant garden, a large shaded terrace (70 m2) with wood stove, barbecue and meal area, private swimming pool (4x6 m) and parking area.

Prices include bed linen, bathroom towels, water, gas, electricity, cleaning before arrival and after departure. Maid service during stay available with previous booking, and against a fee of EUR 50 per cleaning (paid locally).

The South East Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park is the finest preserved stretch of European coastline, covering over 100 km, from Porto Covo in the Alentejo, to Burgau in the Algarve. The Park includes various unique species of animal and plant life, and is visited by many zoologists and botanists from all parts of the world.

The landscape is marked by steep cliffs, represented in the Parks logo, that have been given various forms and colouring by centuries of erosion.

Many bird species can be seen, such as rare fishing eagles. The rarest species is the white stork, given that this is the only place in the world where they build their nests in the seashore rocks. Another rarity is the otter, since this is the only place in Portugal and one of the last places in Europe where it is possible to find otters in a marine habitat. Plant life includes the largest number of priority species in Portugal, including unique indigenous species such as Biscutella vicentina or Plantago Almogravensis.

The beaches, are highly popular amongst surfers, and are the finest in the country. There is a tremendous variety of beaches, including long stretches of sand and small beaches nestled between the cliffs and rocks. The long list includes beaches such as Porto Covo, Malhão, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Almograve, Monte Clérigo, Arrifana and Praia do Amado. If you have the energy and desire to stray from the beaten track, albeit with difficult access, it’s possible to discover many other beaches that have been preserved in a virtually unspoilt state.

In the extreme South Eastern section of the Park make sure to visit the lighthouse in the Cape of São Vicente after whom this stretch of coastline has been named and the nearby Sagres promontory, that housed the famous nautical school founded by the Infante D. Henrique in the 15th century. 

 

The country house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 3 double. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the in the mezzanine, 1 double sofa bed located in the in the living room. This gives room for up to 10 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
