We fell in love with a tumbledown farmhouse in a quiet rural location, yet only 20 minutes from Faro airport and the sea. We purchased the land and then built the villa and pool. The building was completed in early 2005. We then set about transforming the garden area using the well eatblished, carob, almond and olive trees and adding fruit trees, shrubs and flowers.

The tennis court and garden chess set were completed in 2006.

We built the villa for ourselves and our family we are happy to share our holiday home with others when we are not using it.

My wife is a teacher and has a holiday at the villa every school holiday. The weather is often good enough to sunbathe in December.

I accompany my wife whenever possible, I also come with friends to play golf in November. There are just so many courses around.
 

Each bedroom and the lounge/dining room have individually controlled air conditioning unit. For the winter months there are oil filled radiators and reversible air con units. The lounge/dining room also has a wood burning stove. For families with young children is should be noted that there are no facilities in place to prevent access to the pool. There are steps down from the veranda to the pool and sun terrace. There is a substantial secluded balcony that can be accessed from both upstairs bedrooms. From this there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. With solid solid walls on every side the balcony acts as a suntrap making winter sunbathing a most enjoyable experience.

Seville airport is around 210km away.
Lisbon & Jerez airports are around 280km away.
A car is absolutely essential.
The villa is tucked away but only 6 km from the Motorway, the entire Algarve region is easily accessable. All the great attractions from Cape St Vincent to the Spainish border are within easy reach. I have played golf from Silves in the west to Castrim Marim in the east all can be reached within 45 minutes, some are much closer. 

Casa Alfarroba is an air conditioned country villa with its own infinity pool set in a hectare of land. The property has 4 bedrooms (3 en-suite) and a further family bathroom. Its reversible air conditioning, oil filled radiators and wood burning stove make it cool in summer and snug in winter. The well furnished lounge/dining room provides ample room and is equipped with TV, DVD and music centre. The is fully equipped kitchen has an full oven, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. Bed linen and bathroom towels provided. A car is essential. The mature gardens of 3500 sq m are protected by a high fence and electronic gates. It contains a 10 x 5 metre infinity pool, a garden chess set, a substantial sun terrace and BBQ. There is a secluded balcony accessed from both upstairs bedrooms and a shaded veranda overlooking the pool. The tennis court is outside the formal garden area. The airport is 17km away motorway access is 6km away giving easy access to the entire Algarve region.

The villa comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin, 3 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 4 bathrooms and 4 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The property is suitable for moderately disabled people. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs. Whilst the main access to the pool area is down a flight of steps, there is a cobbled path from the front door down the side of the villa to the pool area. My sister has MS and has stayed at the villa. She was able to walk using her frame down to the pool. 

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a garden, a patio area, a balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque, a tennis court. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the villa you will find walking, tennis, historic sites, a museum, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, cycling, golf, a zoo, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a themepark.
