Casa Moinho is a detached 2 bedroom stone cottage set in its own grounds amidst the beautiful Monchique Mountains, in the western Algarve.
The house has a well equipped Kitchen/Diner, 2 Bedrooms, and 2 Bathrooms on the upper level and a large lounge on the lower level which is equipped with British satellite TV, DVD player and 2 sofas of which one is a double sofa bed. A washing is also provided. Externally it has a 3mtr sq plunge pool and two patios. The Upper Patio offering all day sun with the Lower Patio shaded by a large Pomegranate Tree. In the grounds are a number of trees including Oranges, Lemons, Figs and P Pomegranates that guests are able to enjoy whilst the mountain stream babbles away in the background.
 

The house is in an area of outstanding beauty around 3 miles from the town of Monchique, the capital of the mountains. In the town is a large municipal swimming pool which is free to use in the summer months. There are many shops, bars, restaurants, 2 Banks with ATMs and a taxi rank all around the Town Square and up the narrow cobbled streets. Also there are areas of interest like the stepped gardens dotted with statues and filled with beautiful flowering trees and shrubs. A Central Water feature, Tiled Mosaic of the town a large open paved area which hosts Open air events and some of the many Festivals which are held in Monchique, There is a small market selling fresh vegetables and fish and a library with free internet access. However the nearest restaurant to the house is only a 3/5 minute drive away.
If you want to venture out then to the south about 10 mins drive is the Spa Resort of Caldas which has a pool filled with Monchique mineral waters, restaurants, shops and a Spa. A further 20-25 mins takes you to the second city of the Algarve, Portimao and the resort of Praia do Rocha, with its striking sandstone cliffs and large sandy beaches. If you prefer a quieter more traditional beach resort then a 45 min drive from the house west to the coast of Monte Clerigo

If you are interested in walking, birdwatching or nature bring you walking shoes for Monchique is classed as location of outstanding beauty with walks including Foia, Picota and more 

The Location of the house makes it ideal for discerning people looking for a more peaceful, relaxing holiday escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a place to totally relax and unwind.

The nearest restaurant is 2 mins drive/ 15 mins walk where the food is Portuguese, you can have someting different like Wild boar, traditional portuguese garlic bread (Migas) and pork ribs, Chicken Piri piri ,Snacks, Ice cream, Cakes. With good wine /Beer/Spirits for a fraction of the cost of the resorts. currently about 75p for a bottle of beer and from £3 for a bottle of good wine. 

The Villa is within 3 miles of Monchique town centre, a traditional Portuguese town catering and wellcoming visitors with cafes on the towns square ,restaurants and shops selling local handicrafts You will find this a full and interesting holiday with trips down to the coast and family attractions ,a chance to see the real Portugal around Monchique and Alentejo, its 20 miles from great surfing and 12 miles away from golfing. Siteseeing includes Picota, Caldas and Foia combining this with time spent at the house spent swimming ,sunbathing,barbecues and if youve got time Satellite TV providing your british favourites you might not want to miss. The property is kept in good condition with regular upgrades and maintanance. The last being completed November 2008 ready for the 2009 season which included a fresh and modern redecoration throughout.

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the lounge. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
