Casa de La Rama is a charming wheelchair friendly holiday cottage on the edge of olive groves next to the Cortijo de Los Piedaos. There are wondeful views of the Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Lujar. The casita's name means "the bough".

It was designed by the architect owner especially for the disabled or elderly visitor who is confined to a wheelchair. Access from a car is simple as vehicles can pull up right outside the front door and be parked nearby.

The tracks from your door leads past the olive groves and beyond to the river Guadalfeo or into the terraces, full of orange, lemon, pomegranate and other exotic fruit trees amongst the ancient olives.

 

From the entrance hall a short and shallow ramp leads up to a large living/dining/kitchen area with terracotta floors which has satelliteTV, DVD, CD player, and lots of books.

Level access through sliding French windows leads onto a charming shaded patio with barbecue and a sheltered garden with a wheel chair accessible pathway leading through the private walled garden to your own private pool. In May, gaze up at a snowy peak whilst you swim.

The kitchen area has a double sink, fridge freezer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven, all carefully designed for ease of use by the visitor in a wheelchair.

The main bedroom has a high double bed and charming rustic furniture. A generous en-suite bathroom has an open, level floor shower area with a fold down seat, basin, bidet and WC all with ergonomically positioned grab-rails. A washing machine is conveniently positioned in this bathroom.

The second bedroom, up a few steps, has twin beds and a walk in wardrobe. The bathroom adjoining the second bedroom has a bath with shower, basin, bidet and WC.

The villa is well insulated and has good through natural ventilation plus air conditioning and central air heating using an ecological heat pump. The bathrooms have heated towel rails and infrared heaters. Hot water comes from a solar panel with a butane backup system.

An "attendant" wheel-chair is provided.
 

You can picnic in the shade of an olive tree, or just lie in the sun and read a book from the well-stocked bookshelves.
There are many health practitioners in Orgiva and you can arrange for a massage or other treatments in the confort of your own holiday home from home! 

La Rama is a delightful villa for a perfect holiday for all. The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming calls only and a fax machine.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Inside, the main bedroom, bathroom, living/dining/kitchen areas are linked by wide double doors. There is level access through sliding glass doors to the patio, walled private garden and pool. The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking, cycling.

Close to the villa you will find horse riding, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, skiing/snowboarding, golf, a museum, a themepark.
