Jungleside House is located just five minutes walk from the beach at Wewelgoda just south of the popular Sri Lankan resort of Hikkaduwa, its right in the middle of the largest and most beautiful bay in the South West of Sri Lanka. The Jungle house at Hikkaduwa provides you with a very comfortable base from where to enjoy everything that the area has to offer, such as surfing, diving, snorkeling, fishing or just basking on the beach in the Sri Lankan sunshine! 

After watching the last of the sun dip down into the Indian Ocean, relax around an open fire with seafood BBQ or take a stroll along the beach and sample some Hikkaduwa nightlife. Maybe youll be lucky enough to see local fishermen hauling in their catch, or later on at night, a turtle coming ashore to lay her eggs! For the duration of your holiday in Hikkaduwa, Chandralal will be on hand to attend to your every need. He will happily arrange for you a relaxing Ayurvedic massage, fishing trips, diving trips, BBQs, lagoon safaris as well as Hikkaduwa area and Sri Lanka-wide tours (Now including Jaffna Peninsula). Chandralal has his own tuk tuk so there is no need to walk any where if the weather is too hot. 

The House has three spacious double bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, two fully fitted bathrooms, there is hot and cold water through-out, there are two outdoor showers on split levels, and a large kitchen / dining area. On the ground floor is the open veranda where you can hang the hammock. On the first floor a 54 feet balcony with hammock hooks and on the 2nd floor a sun terrace / star bar. The beautiful mature garden has many fruit plants, banana, mango, papaya, coconut and more. Each of the beds and chairs are professionally cut and hand carved from timber grown in the garden. All of the beds and steamer chairs were deliberately made over size, and the kitchen / dining table easily seats 6, this really is indoor and outdoor relaxation at its best. 

Views from the holiday villa of the mature jungle flora and fauna are simply gorgeous! You will see monkeys, mongoose’s, fruit bats, iguanas and many rare bird species

The house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 3 double, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The house has television. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a washing machine. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this house.

The house is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a east facing garden, a east facing patio area, a east facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the house you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, boat hire, fishing, scuba diving, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the house you will find water skiing, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema.

Scuba, Surfboard & Kite Surfing hire is also available at the beach.

Review submitted by non-Villarenters customer: Jungle Side is ideally situated either to explore this beautiful country and meet the smiling gentle people, enjoy the delicious food or just relax and enjoy the Indian Ocean and the amazing beaches. and all they have to offer. Lal is always on hand to take you wherever you want to go in his tuk tuk. The house is in a quiet relaxing location but just 5 mins walk to the beach and the garden has plenty of coconut, papaya, banana trees and aloe vera plants etc. It is also fascinating to sit on the balcony or roof terrace and watch the monkeys and other wild life. There is so much to see and do and we didnt have enough time but I would love to return and this house provides an ideal base. The house is spacious, airy and cool and very well equipped. My only regret is that I couldnt stay longer.
