Tio Charles, along with Benalmadena Pueblo is probably one of Spain´s best kept secrets. Unlike many of the modern charmless developments, Tio Charles is one of the most beautiful and best kept urbanisations in the Costa del Sol. The walkways, pools and gardens are cleaned every day and the whole place smells of jasmine throughout most of the year.

There are only a few of the properties in Tio Charles that are let out to holidaymakers and most of these are booked up well in advance.

Tio Charles is ideal for either families or single people because it is the perfect location for those who wish to stay in quiet place but yet be extremely close to numerous lively places such as Fuengirola, Benalmadena Costa, Puerto Banus, Marbella, Torremolinos and Malaga. On the other hand, if you want to go for a quiet drink and a romantic meal, the Pueblo has everything you need. Tio Charles has it's own on-site shop for essentials such as bread etc.

The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed with everything provided. The lounge has suite and television plus a dining table, the adjoining kitchen is fully fitted and equipped. The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobes and a terrace with a fantastic view down to the sea and the second bedroom has two twin beds, fitted wardrobes and a pleasant outlook to the front. There is a lovely back garden with a barbecue and patio table for sitting out on those lovely warm Andalucian evenings that are so plentiful in this part of Spain.

The entrances to the development are all locked and can only be opened by either a key from the outside or a telephone security system if visitors arrive. There is also a security guard on site. The allocated parking area is situated under cover and the main door is opened by a key fob. My wife and I have two children and fully understand the importance of cleanliness and security, and we have found that Tio Charles fully meets our needs.
 

Benalmadena Pueblo is a traditional Andalucian village about 2 miles up the hillside from both Benalmadena Costa and Aroyo de la Miel and with easy driving distance of Fuengirola, Marbella, Puerto Banus and not forgetting, Malaga and it´s airport which is only 20 minutes drive. The Sierra Nevada mountains can be reached within an hour’s drive

There are numerous "Spanish" and "British" bars within the village itself and there is a fantastic little village square where you can sit out at one of the three quiet restaurants for a very inexpensive meal and drink

The church is situated on the hill at the top of the village there is a path leading down to beautiful public garden areas with water features that are particularly romantic in the evening

For those who wish to travel around he surrounding area or, there are hundreds of bars and restaurants within a couple of miles

There are excellent beaches at either Benalmadena or Fuengirola, and are all quiet and well looked after.

There are also regular buses available that will take you to either Arroyo or Benalamdena Costa and if necessary, there are local taxi firms

The Pueblo has banks with ATMs, a small but superbly stocked supermarket, coffee bars, chemist, newsagent and numerous other small shops. Larger supermarkets can be found on the way to Arroyo and superb shopping centres in Arroyo, Fuengirola and Benalmadena Costa

There is also a magnificent Buddist Temple or Stupa in the village, very close to Tio Charles

We have family who have lived in Benalmadena Pueblo for over 20 years and have never once considered moving back to the UK.
 

The Costa del Sol, Andalucia is probably the warmest region of Spain and therefore the weather is suitable for holidays all through the winter. We have had excellent weather in every month of the year, even December and January can be very sunny and warm.

Skiing

What could be better than spending half your holiday skiing and the other half basking in the sunshine?

The Sierra Nevada mountans are only 2 - 3 hours drive from Benalmadena. We can personally recommend this as being an excellent ski resort without the horrendous expense of some of the more famous French ones. Ski passes, ski hire and meals out are all much cheaper than most other ski resorts and there are numerous green slopes for beginners. Without a doubt, the best in the area is the Valparaiso Restaurant near Mijas and provides not only excellent food but also a fantastic atmosphere and a superb cabaret

Pepe´s restaurant offers fantastic value for money and is situated next to the church in the Pueblo. Pepe takes great pride in serving one of the best steaks known to mankind.

Although we ask guests not to smoke inside the house , we have absulutely no objection to anyone sitting in the garden to smoke. After all, it's very rarely cold there.

The house comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

It has access to a shared swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. Close to the house you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, horse riding, golf, scuba diving, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a themepark, a restaurant, a food shop.
