The villa is set in the very quiet village of Popgrigorovo, which is situated in the gently rolling hills of the Bulgarian countryside, and yet is 10 minutes' drive from Dobrich and 20 minutes' drive from Balchik, with the resorts of Albena and Golden sands just few more minutes away. Varna is another 10 minutes along the coastal road from Golden Sands.

The village is a small, sleepy haven for those who want to get away from it all, there is little or no traffic and the only sounds you will hear as you sip your rakia on the balcony are the honking of the geese or the occasional bray of a local donkey.  

Built in 2005 the villa has everything that you are used to at home, plus a whole lot more. It is light and airy, and has all new modern fixtures and fittings.

The ground floor is open plan with entry to the kitchen area through the side door. The kitchen is fully equipped, it has a washing machine, fridge, freezer, combination grill/microwave, kettle, toaster, hob and oven. There is a full complement of cooking utensils, plus all the crockery and cutlery you need.

The living area has a three piece suite plus pouffe, so up to six people can sit in comfort to watch the tv. There is Bulgarian satellite tv, which has a fair number of English-speaking channels, plus live premiership matches on Saturdays and all the grand prixs. There is also a DVD player with a good selection of contemporary movies on DVD.

The sofa can be converted to a comfortable double bed, allowing a total of eight occupants in the villa.

The dining area has a large pine table and chairs, and as the kitchen is in a 'galley' style, serving up meals is easy.

There are two large doors at the front of the house leading to the patio, swimming pool and barbecue areas, and of course the garden.

The hand-made wrought iron spiral staircase leads to the first floor. There is a large wet room (bathroom) with toilet, hand basin and shower.

There are two twin bedrooms and one double, which has full en suite facilities including shower. All the bedrooms have mirrors and large pine wardrobes, all bed linen and towels are supplied. All three bedrooms have double doors leading to the balcony.

There are two cherry trees nearby and you can easily pick cherries from the trees as you relax on the balcony.

 

The garden is a huge 4100 square metres (about 1.5 acres) and is situated on a gentle slope, providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The garden has many fruit trees, including apple, cherry, strawberries, raspberries and plums. Last year we made 33 litres of rakia from our plums, there will be a sample waiting for you on arrival!

The swimming pool is 7 metres by 3 metres with a 1.5 metre depth. There is a 1.5 metre tiled surround, giving plenty of room for those all-important sun beds! There is also a stylish metal railing around the pool to keep you and the kids safe, the pool has underwater lighting making it an ideal venue for an evening barbecue.

Country Life
PopGrigorovo is not a resort but a genuine Bulgarian village. Most villagers in Bulgaria have dogs, and on occasion the dogs in the village will all bark in unison. It's not a major problem and it will not spoil your holiday in any way, but we want to make sure that you are aware of this fact.
 

There is air conditioning on the ground floor. The villa is built on a slope and so the back wall is very cool, keeping the temparature of the villa down. There are large fans in the bedrooms and as all doors and windows have full length mosquito screens you can sleep with them open. All floors are fully tiled which also adds to the cool aspect of the house. The rental price is all-inclusive,there is nothing else to pay for electricity, water, air con or pool facilities. The villa has a burglar alarm for your security and peace of mind. It is linked to the Dobrich-based security company, and on activation security personnel will be on site within ten minutes. (This facility works - we have tried it!) In order to maintain the open aspect of the surrounding countryside, the boundary fences are constructed from transparent wire mesh, as opposed to solid materials. Please note that the swimming pool is only in service between the months of May to October inclusive.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the In the living area. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside walking.

Close to the villa you will find a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, golf, historic sites.

Aquapolis water park, Golden Sands, Albena, Dobrich and Varna, Balchik botanical gardens.
