GOLF
The Cabopino Golf is a popular course with "handicappers", who return year after year (and it's only been open since April 2001), both for the quality course, and its stunning scenery. The friendly clubhouse and obliging staff make nine or eighteen holes a pleasurable must and the climate on the Costa make golf an all-year-round activity.
LOCAL AREA
Cabopino boasts two golden, sandy beaches and Puerto Cabopino Marina is within walking distance. As well as being picturesque, Puerto Cabopino Marina has some great family friendly bars and full a la carte restaurants with varied menus for all tastes and budgets. The main beach next to the Port has sun beds (small daily charge) and “chiringitos” (beach bars) with cooling shaded areas and a warm welcome. These long golden beaches, safe and protected by life guards extend east to Calahonda and west to Elvira. To the West of the main beach “Artola Beach and Dunes” is known locally as “las Dunas de Artola”. It is a protected area of dunes designated for naturists.
FURTHER AFIELD
Travelling down the coast road to the West before Marbella is “La Canada” which has excellent shopping facilities. Journey on along the coast and you arrive at Marbella with it’s high class boutiques. Walking through the old town with its picturesque narrow streets of small cosmopolitan shops you will arrive in Orange Square.
Journeying on you will arrive at Puerto Banus, famous for its marina and night life – great for celebrity spotting! Gibraltar is approximately ¾ hour drive where you can stock up on your duty free and electrical goods.
To the East of Cabopino you will find La Cala, a quaint village with an award winning beach and local amenities. Further along the coast you will approach Fuengirola where the new Myramar Shopping Complex has just been recently opened. This complex boasts local high street names, together with a cinema where English films are shown.
Inland is the mountain village of Mijas with its donkey taxis and extensive Spanish history.
