Villa Immacolata is located in the highly residential via Cava di Spinavola, about 900m from the centre of the historic town of Forio. The apartment is on the 1st floor of the villa, accessed by its own exclusive stairway, which includes a bolted gate. The apartment is completely independent and is not overlooked. Access to via Cava di Spinavola is from the driveway of the villa via a secure gateway.

The apartment has two well furnished double bedrooms, each offering an extra folding single bed (or a cot), providing accommodation for 6 guests. The bathroom comprises bath, shower, bidet, w/c & wash hand basin, also generous shelf storage. Bed linen & towels are provided and are changed weekly. Appliances provided include a washing machine, fridge-freezer & gas & electric hob.

An outstanding feature of the whole apartment is the elegant wood furniture, large mirrors and a lovely collection of the works of local artists, particularly in the main bedroom. The floor is tiled throughout the apartment, making for easy cleaning/maintenance.

Guests will love the views offered: from the balcony outside the main bedroom an extensive sea view and from the kitchen & terrace a wonderful view of Mt. Epomeo. Additionally the terrace offers superb views of the sun setting into the Tyrrhenian sea. Ischia is generally hot and sunny during the day but cool by night and the terrace is an excellent area in which to barbeque, or dine al fresco on food prepared in the well-equipped kitchen.

L appartamento è sul primo piano della villa, raggiunto dalla scala esclusiva, che include un cancello serrato. Lappartamento è completamente indipendente e non è trascurato. L accesso a via Cava di Spinavola proviene dalla strada privata della villa via un cancello sicuro.

L appartamento ha due camere da letto doppie ammobiliate bene, una con un letto supplementario. C e anche un letto singolo piegabile. Una culla può essere resa disponibile, fornendo la sistemazione per 5/6 ospiti. La stanza da bagno contiene vasca, acquazzone, bidet, il lavandino per le mani ed anche una spaziosa mensola/armadio. La biancheria ed asciuggamani sono forniti settimanalmente. Gli elettrodomestici forniti includono lavatrice, un frigorifero-congelatore, gas e forno elettrico e televisione satellite.

Una caratteristica importante dell appartamento è il lavoro in legno dei mobili, i grandi specchi e una collezione bella di quadri impianti di artisti locali, specialmente nella camera da letto principale. Il pavimento coperto di tegoli, fanno la pulizia e manutenzione dell apartamento molto facile.

Gli ospiti ameranno la veduta del mare dal balcone della principale camera da letto. Dalla cucina e dal terrazzo si puo godere una vasta vista del Mt. Epomeo. Il terrazzo anche offre ulteriormente una splendida vista del tramonto col sole che si rispecchia nel Tirreno. Durante il giorno ad Ischia è generalmente caldo e pieno di sole ma la temperatura diventa piu bassa entro la notte ed quindi il terrazzo è una zona eccellente in cui si puo mangare al fresco dei pasti preparati in cucina or barbecue.
 

One of the principal attractions of this apartment is its proximity – about 270m or less than 5 mins walk - to the sun-drenched Chiaia beach, noted for its safety and the clarity of the water. Nearby San Montano offers a sheltered warmer than average beach. Additionally there are many other delightful beaches within easy reach by bus, particularly San Francesco, Citara, the thermal resort Poseidon, Negombo, St Angelo, Maronti & the Sorgeto bay with its famous hot springs.

Una delle attrazioni principali di questo appartamento è la vicinanza – circa 270m di prossimità o meno di 5 minuti a piedi - alla sole-infradiciata spiaggia di Chiaia, celebre per la relativa sicurezza e la chiarezza dell acqua. Guests usually arrive in Naples via Capodichino International Airport. We recommend taking the Alibus just outside the airport (Euro3 per person, buy tickets on the bus) or a taxi to the port, Molo Beverello (approx. 15-20 mins bus ride - the Alibus stops only at Piazza Garibaldi and Molo Beverello).

There are frequent aliscafi sailings from Molo Beverello to the ports of Ischia: Ischia Porto, Casamicciola and Forio. The major port with most sailings is Ischia Porto. The quickest journey is by hydrofoil (‘aliscafo’, Ali Lauro or Caremar lines) or catamaran. The slowest is by traditional car ferries (Caremar, Medmar and SNAV lines) sailing only to Casamicciola or Ischia Porto from Porta di Massa –a few hundred yards from Beverello. There is a free navetta service taking passengers from the molo Beverello to the terminal at Porta di. Massa. There are also aliscafo sailings from Mergellina to the island though less frequent.

The closest port to Villa Immacolata is Forio, but this is linked to the other ports by frequent bus services or by taxi. Detailed directions of how to reach Villa Immacolata will be e-mailed just prior to your arrival.

Public transport on Ischia is good, frequent & cheap! The bus stop for the main bus routes (CS, CD, 01 & 02) is two minutes stroll (80m) from the apartment, making this a holiday home where a car is absolutely unnecessary! For your vacation put the problems of parking, traffic jams & other drivers behind you. Buy your bus tickets from the Tabachi or Edicole. Don’t forget to punch your tickets in the machines provided once you start your journey as failure to do this could lead to a fine.

The nearest supermarket, which offers all groceries, (delicatessen, fresh fruit & vegetables, wine etc.) is located next to the bus stop. The closest town (about 10 minutes walk, or a couple of minutes by bus) is historic Forio, convenient for all shopping and boutiques. Its Port offers frequent sailings to Napoli Beverello, Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi and Formia (in high season) etc. Forio has numerous lively bars, ice-cream parlours and many locally esteemed restaurants offering the typical cuisine of Ischia as well as international dishes. The town also has a daily market, supermarkets, banks and a post office.

Ischia is the largest island (47 sq. km) in the Gulf of Naples, known to Italians as the ‘Green Island’ because of its green volcanic stone and the lush vegetation. It is hilly because of its volcanic origin and is blessed with wonderful beaches & sparklingly clear sea. A boat trip around the island offers views of beautiful places which are not accessible by land. The island is particularly famous for its many thermal springs and spa centres. It is close to the famous island of Capri and the beautiful Amalfi coastline.

Forio, the second major town of the island, has a lot to offer to the visitor! It has preserved its historical centre with its narrow streets, its churches, its monuments - most of them kept with their original construction. The Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso, frequently pictured in postcards, was built in the XVIth century on a cliff and the area surrounding is a popular place for walks and entertainment. Close to the town centre are the famous gardens “La Mortella” laid out by Lady Walton, wife of the composer Sir William Walton (open to the public). In the same area the vacation home of Luchino Visconti “La Colombaia” deserves a visit. Not far from Forio in the mountain there is a tiny village, Santa Maria del Monte, with houses built into the rock around a church with the same name, also built into the rock.

Ischia Porto is well worth a visit to enjoy a stroll around the port and along its charming high street with attractive shops & boutiques. Ischia Ponte is a picturesque fishing village that can be easily reached from the port and where to enjoy a visit to the fascinating Castello Aragonese. Likewise, Casamicciola and Lacco Ameno (with the excellent Pitheacusa museum which details the first Greek colony from 4,000 BC) are recommended venues.

All towns on the island offer much to see and enjoy with frequent music concerts, festivals and traditional folk events in public areas for the enjoyment of all ages alike. However, please consider also taking a boat trip to the island of Capri, the Amalfi coast and, particularly, exploring the wonders of Herculaneum and Pompei. Naples is home to the National Museum which houses many superb artefacts from the towns destroyed by the Vesuvius eruption (including the famous erotic art of Pompei).

Come arrivare a Ischia e spostarsi

Arrivando a Napoli, alaeroporto internazionale di Capodichino, si puo prendere il Alibus dell’ ANM davanti allaeroporto (3 Euro a persona, il biglietto si compra sul bus) o un taxi per il Molo Beverello (giro del bus di approssimativamente 15-20 minuti - il Alibus si ferma soltanto a Piazza Garibaldi e a Molo Beverello).

Tra Napoli ed Ischia ce un efficiente servizio di trasporto marittimo con corse di aliscafi frequente dal Molo Beverello per gli porti isolani: Ischia Porto, Casamicciola e Forio. Il porto principale, Ischia Porto, ha il maggior numero di corse (servizi dellAli Lauro e di Caremar). Navi traghetti per passaggeri ed auto (servizi di Caremar, Medmar and SNAV) navigano soltanto tra Calata Porta di Massa -a pochi metri dal Beverello- ed Casamicciola o Ischia Porto. Un servizio gratis di navetta collega il molo Beverello ed la stazione maritima di Porta di Massa. Anche ci sono qualche corse di aliscafi dal porto di Mergellina (Napoli).

Forio è il porto più vicino alla Villa Immacolata è collegato agli altri porti da frequenti servizi di autobus. Detagli di come raggiungere la villa Immacolata saràno inviati per posta elettronica dopo la conferma della prenotazione.

Il trasporto pubblico sull’isola è buono, frequente e non costoso! La fermata di bus per gli principali linee (CS, CD, 01 & 02) è ad (80m) due minuti ad piedi dallappartamento, il quale è, come posto di vacanza, ventaggioso per spostarsi dove l’automobile è veramente inutile! Per la vostra vacanza potete mettere i problemi di parcheggio, degli inceppamenti di traffico & di altre machine, dietro voi. Vostri biglietti per l’autobus si comprano dal Tabachio o dal’ Edicole. Non dimenticarsi di perforare i vostri biglietti nelle macchinette fornite una volta che iniziate il vostro viaggio poichè lomissione di fare questo potrebbe condurre ad una multa immediata.

Il supermercato più vicino, che offre tutti prodotti alimentari (incl. Salumeria, frutta e verdura, vino ecc.) è situato ad un paso dalla fermata del bus. La città più vicina (circa 10 minuti a piedi, o pochi minuti col bus) è Forio storico, conveniente per tutti negozi, mercato, boutiques, vivace bars, ristoranti localmente apprezzate per suoi piatti tipici ischitani e gelaterie. Il suo Porto anche offre corse di aliscafo a Napoli Beverello, Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi e Formia (alta stagione) ecc. La città inoltre ha mercato giornaliero, supermercati, banca e ufficio postale.

anna says: "We were 3 adults and 2 children. The kitchen was great, and they had kindly filled the fridge for us. Bedrooms and bathroom was also good and there was a washingmachine. We spent most of our time at home on the terrace/balcony, a great space to read, cook (there was a bbq), play cards etc. There is a nice beach a few minutes walk away, Forio was also walking distance and a shop just down the road. 3 buses also stop 2min away should you wish to visit another town or beach. We had a great time at Villa Immacolata. It was very conviniently located (we didnt have a car and there really was no need for one). The caretaker and owner of the flat were extremely helpful, even with things that had nothing to do with the house. I would definately recommend this flat."
