La Petite Ferme is located in the historic village of Dampierre sur Boutonne. The village boasts a Renaissance Chateau and a 12th Century church. The area is surrounded by countless fields of beautiful sunflowers and fantastic birds and wildlife. The current owners purchased the former farmyard in 1998 to begin a new way of life and an adventure in France , leaving behind the crowds and the traffic of England . They have lovingly restored some neglected buildings into comfortable accommodation retaining many original features. A garden has been created where there was none and it all makes La Petite Ferme a friendly place to spend a holiday and somewhere pleasant to return to after a day exploring the region. Since 1999 when they had their first booking, the owners have made many new friends some of whom now own holiday homes themselves in the area. Some have even taken the plunge and made the move to live in France permanently.  

The cottage is a recently converted farm building on two floors, plus a mezzanine floor. We have retained original features such as oak beams and stone walls, there is a wood burning stove in the living area and a heater in the bedroom making this a delightful cottage for winter as well as summer breaks.

ACCOMODATION SLEEPS 2/4

GROUND FLOOR : Double bedded bedroom with en suite bathroom.

FIRST FLOOR : This floor opens onto the patio and has an open plan well equipped kitchen and living are with stairs leading too the mezzanine above.

MEZZANINE : 2 single beds. There is a low beam on this floor therefore there is not full standing headroom for adults.

OUTSIDE: A lovely secluded patio with BBQ and garden furniture, at the rear of the main house is the swimming pool.

LAUNDRY ROOM : Located in one of the barns is an automatic washing machine and a deep freeze 

The cottage is in what was once a small farmyard, so there is plenty of room for children to play. There are swings near the swimming pool and in an under cover area (safe from the midday sun) we have table tennis and a mini pool table.

Satellite Television: All the gites have satellite TV with the BBC free to air channels, if you are a sky subscriber and cannot live with out your TV you can bring you own viewing card to use in the digibox

We have several chickens and cats, so we cannot accept dogs, sorry.
 

The gite comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 4 people.

The gite has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use.

The gite has television satellite/cable. Recreational activities available with the gite include a snooker/pool table, table tennis.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle. You will also find an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking gite

The gite is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a west facing patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The gite is right beside swimming, walking, cycling.

Close to the gite you will find fishing, mountain biking, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the gite you will find a beach, sailing, boat hire, wind surfing, horse riding, golf, a museum, a zoo, a themepark.
