La Petite Ferme is located in the historic village of Dampierre sur Boutonne. The village boasts a Renaissance Chateau and a 12th Century church. The area is surrounded by countless fields of beautiful sunflowers during July and fantastic birds and wildlife. The current owners purchased the former farmyard in 1998 to begin a new way of life and an adventure in France, leaving behind the crowds and the traffic of England . They have lovingly restored some neglected buildings into comfortable accommodation retaining many original features. The most recent addition in 2006 is a 10x5m pool with sun terrace. A garden has been created where there was none and it all makes La Petite Ferme a friendly place to spend a holiday and somewhere pleasant to return to after a day exploring the region. Since 1999 when they had their first booking, the owners have made many new friends some of whom now own holiday homes themselves in the area. Some have even taken the plunge and made the move to live in France permanently.  

ACCOMMODATION SLEEPS 7 PLUS COT In the 19th century farmhouse comprising of 3 large bedrooms. Kitchen lounge/dining room, 2 toilets and showers

GROUNDFLOOR: Well equipped kitchen comfortable lounge/dining room, double bedroom room with shower and toilet en suite

FIRST FLOOR: Two large bedrooms with 5 single beds for flexible sleeping arrangements. Bathroom and toilet

OUTSIDE: Sunny south facing garden with BBQ and garden furniture. At the rear of the house is the swimming pool.

LAUNDRY ROOM : Located in one of the barns are an automatic washing machine and a deep freeze.


 

The Farmhouse is in what was once a small farmyard, there are secure gates that you can close if you have young children and there is plenty of room for children to play. There are swings near the pool and in an undercover area (safe from the midday sun) we have table tennis and a mini pool table.

Satellite Television: All the gites have satellite TV with the BBC free to air channels, if you are a sky subscriber and cannot live with out your TV you can bring you own viewing card to use in the digibox


We have several chickens and cats, so we cannot accept dogs, sorry. 

The farm house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 7 people.

The farm house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The farm house has television satellite/cable. Recreational activities available with the farm house include a snooker/pool table, table tennis.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking farm house

The farm house is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a garden, a west facing patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The farm house is right beside swimming, walking, cycling.

Close to the farm house you will find fishing, mountain biking, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find a beach, sailing, boat hire, wind surfing, horse riding, golf, a museum, a zoo, a themepark.

Don says: "We enjoyed our holiday at The Farmhouse which is in a very convenient location in the village with shop, bakery and bar/restaurant within a couple of hundred metres and supermarket only a couple of miles away. The pool area is very good and the gite has it's own garden for sitting and for eating at the large table. The owners live on site and were very approachable and we had no problems with the property during the stay. It is probably worth mentioning that the plumbing is a little eccentric and it would have been useful to be told that the shower tray will start to empty before it overflows."
