Gandia villa to rent details
General Details
La Casa del Rio (River House) offers you the perfect combination of country location but with beach proximity. With a climate described by The World Health Organisation as ‘The Worlds Healthiest’ and with over 300 days of sunshine annually this truly will be a Spanish experience that will have you coming back for more-we promise!
The property occupies the whole ground floor of the owners 8 bedroomed house. It is completetly independent, with it's own entrance and parking and with sole use of the pool. You will enjoy relaxing around the delightful house which is furnished to a high standard and equipped for your every need and comfort. There are 4 double bedrooms, two with double beds (one of which includes a four-poster bed) and two with twin beds, 2 bathrooms,a sitting room that overlooks the pool, terrace and gardens. The kitchen is fully equipped to make your stay easy and fun.
There is a barbecue and a shaded area for dining alfresco. The pool and surrounds are lit at night for that romantic feel.
There are ample sun beds for you to enjoy the slower pace of life in this part of Spain, which is untouched by mass tourism.
The area is blessed with a choice of ‘Blue Flag’ beaches all safe, clean and suitable for everyone, yet only 10/15 mins. travelling.
With its fantastic riverside position and set amongst the orange groves with mountains as a backdrop it provides for a discerning ‘Real Spanish Holiday’ yet in an area with lots of things to do should you so choose. It’s up to YOU!
The charm of this house is that it has a rural location, with every amenity close at hand.
What to Do
The whole area is a Mecca for sports. You can try your hand at all types of water sports from swimming, sail boarding, surfing, jet skiing, you can even fish in our adjacent river! There are two championship golf courses nearby, one designed by Seve Ballosteros, several tennis clubs, sailing clubs and marinas, go karting, riding etc. Why not take a walk amongst the orange groves, or climb the nearby mountains. Less than 1 hour away is one of Spain’s most popular theme parks Terra Mitica, similar to a Disney Park. There are alternatives such as Safari and Water parks all conveniently placed for you and easily accessed by Motorway.
You could choose to visit one of several sunshine resorts within a few minutes drive all with wonderful ‘Blue Flag’ beaches, bars and resturants.
There are many fiestas held throughout the area and with 32 towns and villages within the La Safor region you can always be sure to find a fiesta or two at any given time of the year. You can even pay a short visit to the Balearic Islands (Ibezia/Mallorca) with sailings from nearby Denia.
The Area
There is a wide choice of supermarkets catering for the most discerning and with fish counters you won’t believe. Try cooking them on our barbecue, delicious.
Eating out is most reasonable with lunch costing 7-10 euros per person on The Menu of The Day (Menu del Dia) and say 10-15 euros per person for an evening meal. Wine is for nothing and is often the same price as bottled water and produced locally. Why not therefore include a visit to a Bodega (Wine cellar) in your itinerary?
The world famous Tapas (delicious small snacks) often a good alternative for lunch, and available in most bars but mainly eaten in the early evening with a coffee or apertitif. Spanish live revolves around bars!
The region is renown throughout the world for ‘Paella’ which is savoury rice dish garnished with meat, fish, seafood or vegetables. You must not leave without sampling this unique dish made here in its place of origin.
We will recommend you a choice of restaurants.
This region is Spain’s major producer of citrus fruits where oranges predominate. The area is full of orange groves including our own adjacent to the house. Citrus trees are an evergreen thus creating lushness all the year round and not the burnt up dryness of some other parts of Spain. Your Christmas Mandarins probably came from here.
The regional capital, Valencia, with its historic parts and now with an incredible marine and science centre is approx. 1 hour away and has recently been selected as the next venue for The America’s Cup one of the worlds most prestigious sporting events.
Inland from the coast within a short drive you will be passing through small towns and villages that time seems to have forgotten.
The whole are will give you a true taste of Spain that you won’t forget easily and you won’t be disappointed.
We provide an information pack advising you how to get the best out of your holiday and make it a memorable one.

Very convenient to the town center and the metro station, easy drive from Valencia airport. The property owners are very welcoming. I give it a 10 of 10!"
