Bolnuevo is a village on the Gulf of Mazarron, just to the west of Puerto de Mazarron on the southern Costa Calida. Fishing nets are still laid out from boats drawn up on the beach and fish caught here can be eaten in some local restaurants.

Even at the height of summer, on the Saints Day in the middle of August (the Spanish equivalent of an August Bank Holiday), there is plenty of room on the beach. In the village there are shops, bars and restaurants.
 

To the west, there is a rocky coastline with low cliffs and coves reached by unmade roads. Some of these coves are designated as Naturist beaches. Along 20 km of coast there is only one small village.

Close to the east is Puerto de Mazarron. This busy fishing port has nightclubs, a cinema, and a beautiful promenade lined with restaurants and bars. There are many other bars restaurants and shops back in the town as well as large supermarkets. It has a very lively atmosphere in the summer and is a very Spanish in its feel; very popular with families.

Further east are the seaside villages of Isla Plana and L'Azohia.

Inland are the mountains of the Espuna Natural Park, with a drive to the highest peak (over 5,000 feet), spectacular views, picnic areas and many forest tracks for walking and mountain-biking.

There are 19 golf courses within about an hour and half drive, including the new Dave Thomas designed Championship Course 40 minutes away at Funte Alamo. 

Air-conditioning in all bedrooms. Built 3 years ago in a small complex with well maintained communal pool and gardens accessible only to people living there. Towels and linen are provided for short term rentals, but NOT beach towels. The beach and village centre are only 300m away. There are patios front and back so you can sunbathe or sit in shade at any time. The settee in the lounge is convertible to a bed so a seventh person can sleep in the property. There is a downstairs shower so one person who cannot manage the stairs could be accomodated.

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the Lounge. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 7 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a east facing garden, a east facing patio area, a east facing balcony, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming, walking, cycling, shopping areas, a restaurant.

Close to the villa you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, horse riding, golf, tennis, a sports center, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find climbing, mountain biking.

In the Espuna Natural Park, see wildlife and birds, and walk and mountain-bike along forest tracks.

Historic Cartagena is riddled with Carthaginean and Roman remains, and has many tourist attractions.

Kieran says: "This was our second holiday in the property. Both times we have received a very warm welcome from Barrie and Jan who provide lots of information about the area, where to eat etc. They come round very quickly if you need something. We found the house to be spacious and very clean with all necessary facilities and equipment. The air con is a real bonus giving us a comfortable nights sleep. The pool area is clean, pretty and well maintained. There is an excellent Spanish restaurant in Hotel Manduca which is almost opposite the property, and other good restaurants in the village. There are some lovely local beaches, we liked Bahia and LAzohia, but still havent explored them all. We shall definitely be coming back, the area is not too busy with lovely, clean beaches and is good value for money."
