meaning Poppy House and if you were to visit in the Spring, you would see why. Facing South and has views over a valley towards the sea. It is a modern spacious 2 bedroom villa, all on one level, located between the villages of Cajiz and Iznate. It is set in the ‘Campo’, countryside, just 7kms inland. There are olive and almond trees around the house and fruit trees at the bottom of the land. There are good sized outside terraces to the front (which is covered) and the side, which is the best spot to enjoy the sunset whilst sipping a glass of vino. The living area is modern with comfortable sofas, satellite television, CD/DVD player, a wood burning stove, a large dining table and chairs and open-plan fully-fitted kitchen. There are two good sized bedrooms one double and one twin and a bathroom with full size bath and shower over. 

Iznate is a traditional white Spanish village set in the Adalucian countryside. It only has 900 inhabitants and is surrounded by olive groves and almond trees. Mules and goats are taken through the village daily and will occasionally be driven on our top track to graze along the roadside. The local bars and cafes serve local food and drinks typical to the region. The village is characteristic of the area with narrow and raised streets adorned with flowerpots of geraniums and jasmine. On the outskirts of the village, there is an excellent outdoor swimming pool, with children’s paddling pool, restaurant and bar, toilets and changing facilities.

Iznate is on the ‘Route of the Sun and Avocados’ between the coastal resort of Rincon de la Victoria and Torre del Mar. The village has a bank, post office, bread shop, butchers and grocers. There are 5 bars, most serving food, with 3 situated around the Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) area.

Venta La Loma, the local bar/restaurant, serves excellent local food and is within walking distance of Casa Amapola.

It is the ideal place to enjoy a peaceful, secluded holiday and yet you are not too far from amenities, places of interest and facilities that offer you the opportunity to have a more adventurous, action packed holiday. The choice is yours…..
 

Casa Amapola is about 35-40 minutes drive from Malaga airport. From the airport the drive is pretty straight forward travelling East along the coast (either on the motorway or the coast road) and then take the Iznate exit which is signposted Cajiz/Iznate. A more detailed map will be provided upon booking.

A similar distance again takes you to Nerja, further East, which is well known for its Blue Flag beaches and excellent restaurants and bars. The coast and Torre del Mar is 10-15 minutes drive away. The town of Torre has many shops and also here you can find a marina and aqua park next to a large shopping mall with hypermarket, cinema, bowling, Burger King, Dunnes department store (Irish owned) and numerous other shops.

Also, there are two 18-hole golf courses that are just 15 minutes drive away.

BEACHES Our favourite beaches are heading West, at Benajarafe (which has many beach cafes and children’s play areas) and at Rincon De La Victoria with its cavelike walkways along the front to get from one beach to another. Also at Rincon, you will find many delightful shops, restaurants and bars. Heading towards Torre you can pull up at any point to enjoy a more secluded spot and maybe take part in some fishing.

RESTAURANTS & BARS There are five bars within Iznate with many of them serving food. They are mainly dotted about the Town Hall area (going into Iznate from the road it is signposted – approximately the third turning from Casa Amapola and as you enter the town you pass a planted seating area). The restaurant at Venta La Loma is excellent and as in many places the menu comes in English. There are many places to eat in Torre del Mar, i.e. Chinese, Italian, Thai, German and we haven’t come across one bad one yet.

ACTIVITIES and PLACES TO VISIT The list is endless. During your stay you may be tempted to go golfing, scuba diving, horseriding, sailing, walking, wine tasting and even skiing between the months of December and May.

The fishing port and yachting marina of Caleta de Velez has many restaurants that serve excellent seafood. Also, not too far are the resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus.

For the more adventurous, why not take a day trip to Sierra Nevada, Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace, or Seville, Cordoba and Gibraltar which are all manageable in comfort from Iznate.
 

The finca comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The finca has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils.
