The Grove Lodge Riverside Holiday Homes is a brand new exclusive development of luxury self-catering accommodation set on the banks of the River Laune and just a five minute stroll from Killorglin Town Centre.The holiday homes are located just a ten minute drive from Rossbeigh beach which is arguably Ireland's most beautiful long golden sandy beach.

 

Each of these 14 holiday homes has been thoughtfully and creatively furnished and finished. They all feature southerly aspects over the River Laune and panoramic views to the rear of Ireland's highest peaks -MacGillycuddy's Reeks.

There are TWO TYPES of units: the Riverbank apartments feature private patios and consist of a double and a triple bedroom. The open plan sitting/dining room leads directly onto the private patios and balconies through large French doors. The other type of units are split level duplexes with both bedrooms upstairs.

The kitchens in all units are fully equipped with all modern conveniences including fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Hardwood floors feature throughout these holiday homes and they have electric under floor heating with thermostatic controls in each room. Other facilities include direct dial telephones (for incoming calls), stereo and cable TV.

As an added luxury, the bathrooms feature jacuzzi baths. 

Killorglin is a bustling town in the heart of county Kerry. It is located at the gateway to both the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula and close to the cosmopolitan towns of Killarney, Kenmare and Dingle.The town offers a great selection of traditional Irish pubs and some fantastic restaurants and there is a host of activities within the town and its surrounds.

THE PUCK FAIR
Killorglin is home to one of Ireland's oldest street festivals -Puck Fair- which is held every year on the 10th, 11th & 12th August.The main events of the Festival include the traditional horse fair, parade and coronation ceremony of "King Puck", fireworks display, open air concerts and hours of family street entertainment.

ROSSBEIGH BEACH
Rossbeigh Beach is a major attraction for visitors to Killorglin. It stretches for 7km of golden sandy blue flag beach and is perfect for swimming, windsurfing, sailing, horse-trekking, fishing and many other watersports.

CAPPANALEA
Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre based at Caragh Lake in Killorglin, offers fantastic courses for all ages especially families from beginner to advanced. Activities include canoeing, orienteering, sailing, hillwalking, windsurfing, rock climbing and much more.

GOLF
Killorglin boasts its own scenic 18 hole course and Dooks, one of the oldest links courses in Ireland with spectacular views over Dingle Bay, is just 6 miles away, as is the relatively new Parklands course of Beaufort. This is the ideal base for a golfing break with over 20 courses to choose from including Ballybunion,Tralee, Killarney, Waterville and Ring of Kerry.

RING OF KERRY
Killorglin is located at the gateway to the world famous scenic drive of the Ring of Kerry which takes you through such quaint and picturesque towns as Glenbeigh, Cahirsiveen, Waterville, Sneem, Kenmare & Killarney.

WALKING
Killorglin and its surrounding areas offers a wide variety of walking routes including walks along the seashore,The Kerry Way Walking Route and the ascent of Ireland's highest mountain -Carrauntuohill.

CYCLING
Killorglin is very popular with cyclists and bikes are available for hire locally.

HORSE RIDING
A number of Equestrian Centres are located close to Killorglin offering pony trekking along the strand or on hilly terrain.

ANGLING
Killorglin is situated on the River Laune which boasts excellent salmon fishing and brown trout from the Killarney Lakes. A private boat is available for fishing trips.

Electricity is based on the individual meter readings and must be paid in cash. ** A security deposit of €100.00 must be given to the supervisor on arrival. This will be returned to you provided the supervisor is satisfied that the terms and conditions of the rental have been complied with. Any breakages or damages will be deducted from your deposit. ** Cots and highchairs should be pre-booked. Guests should bring along their own cot linen.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The apartment has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming calls only.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 5 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this apartment.

Jane says: "The apartment was beautifully situated, right beside the river, which made for a very relaxing holiday. Our children especially loved being able to take the boat out and row on the river. They also enjoyed making friends with the dog! The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable and very spacious although we were disappointed that there was no DVD player that is mentioned in the description of the property. There were also one or two niggly points - despite asking, the lightbulb in the internal bathroom was not changed throughout our stay. The taps in the bathrooms are also extremely difficult to turn fully off with the result that they drip quite badly. The description also implies there is a jacuzzi bath in each bathroom, which is not the case. However, those are just small points and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grove Lodge, finding it very relaxing and a good place to come back to at the end of the day. It is well situated for visiting the Ring of Kerry, within walking distance of Kilorglin and not too far from Kerry airport. All in all, we would certainly recommend this property."
