Trinity Lodge and its setting

In a superbly unique setting, Amidst beautiful Lough Key Forest Park, this delightful property enjoys a stunning location - Facing south overlooking the waters of Lough Key – and 20 acres of grounds with lake frontage. .
A long nature trail leads down to the lake where you can fish, swim or water ski. This nature trail is a nice 10 minute walk from the house to the lake shore with a direct view all the way to the lake. Many wild life roam freely in your path. You will regularly spot deer, fox, mink,Rabbit,hare, and squirrel, The occasional cow grazes the fields as well but don’t worry as they are well used to humans.
The grounds are private so the jetty is all yours to enjoy wheather swimming or just sun bathing. There is a little picnic area here by the lake. You can also hire a rowing boat or motor boat which will be brought to the jetty for your convenience. The lake is directly linked to the river Shannon which makes for several days of wonderful cruising if this takes your fancy.
The location offers excellent opportunities for fishing. In fact this part of the North west has always held one of the best reputations in the whole country for inland fishing. We have regular visitors from all parts of Europe for the fishing alone. Trout and Pike are two of the most common fish found in Lough Key. .Lough Gara and Lough Arrow are two more fishing lakes just minutes away from the house. In fact all the way up the river Shannon and its many subsidiaries round the locality are all great for fishing. Trinity Lodge itself is an elegant stone cut house finished and decorated throughout to a very high standard. With all underfloor heating making it most comfortable whatever the weather. The living area is on the first floor to avail of the breathtaking views over the lake. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor and this has the advantage of easy access for the elderly and less dragging of heavy luggage. The house is bright and very spacious with large windows to take in the sunlight. All 3 bedrooms are en suite with the master bedroom having a Jacuzzi bath. There is a study in the house upstairs which can also be used as a 4th bedroom. There are wooden floors and oak doors throughout the house and the kitchen is equipped with all the usual modern appliances.

Attracts the sun and is a nice place to eat or sunbathe outdoors.
The garden area is large with flowers/shrubs and a lawn area. The patio at the front of the house is equipped with BBQ, and Garden furniture.
 

This part of Ireland is very rural and laid back. Unlike Dublin on the opposite side of the country, where urban life is at a much faster pace. However you can certainly have an action packed holiday while enjoying all the benefits of country living.
Because the locality has such natural beauty there are several designated walk ways and mapped out routes through the hills and valleys. The walks vary, from short to the more demanding for the experienced walker. Short walks include the beautiful rugged mountain of Sliabh an Iarainn which takes approx 2 hours, or up to 2 days. Glenfarne Demesne which is a walk made up of forest trails and tracks range for 1 to 2 hours. (Brochures and maps available at Trinity Lodge)
Several visitors enjoy cycling a great form of exercise and a wonderful way to see the country side. A cycle round the lake and into Lough Key Forest Park is about 8 miles round trip. Bicycles are available for hire at Trinity Lodge.
 

Lough Key Forest Park has for many years drawn people to its spectacular views, abundant wildlife, historic buildings and evocative islands. Recently an activity park has been added to the whole experience which features an Activity Play Kingdom, Boda Borg and The Lough Key experience which is a walk through 19th century tunnels, to the top of the Moylurg viewing tower and along the first Tree Canopy Walk in Ireland.

The Moorlands equestrian Centre in Drumshanbo offer daily riding lessons and pony trekking. They also run summer camps for children. Also in Drumshanbo is an outdoor swimming pool with play area for children with slides, swings, tennis court and climbing frames. It is also a nice picnic area beside Lough Allen.
Up the road are the Arigna Mountains and what remains of the Arigna Mines. The Arigna Mining Experience offers a unique Underground Tour in what was Ireland’s last working Coal Mine. This tour is an education in terms of History and Human endurance, which gives our visitors an insight into a working way of life you could not imagine.
There are several good Golf courses and Links in the area. The nearest one being a new 18 hour course Par 70.It is only 7 minutes from Trinity Lodge and is a challenging course, requiring skill and proficiency with every club in the bag. It is playable all year round and now has a new driving range.
King House in Boyle just 7 miles away is worth a visit. Explore the magnificently restored 18th century Mansion with audio guide. The house audio guide covers the story of Irish tragic Romance, Murder, Bravery and Hardship. King House is also home to the acclaimed Boyle Arts Festival and the award-winning Civic Collection of Contemporary Irish Art.

There are local Farmers markets held weekly in the nearby towns selling local produce, such as Organic fruit, vegetables and herbs. Home baking, jewellery, Cheeses and much more.

Fishing is a huge past time in the area. Pike, game and coarse angling waters are abundant in this relatively unspoilt region. Angling Services Ireland based in Boyle(7 miles) provides guided fishing trips for your enjoyment.
There are several local restaurants offering great value for money. Close by the house is The Moorings Bar and Restaurant which is enjoyed by all the guests at Trinity Lodge. Bruno’s Italian Restaurant (2.5 miles) serves tasty Italian cuisine and a great Irish Steak for the not so adventurous.
Clarendon House Bar and Restaurant (2.5 miles) serves both bar and restaurant food and is excellent value for money and in the local village of Cootehall is the wonderful and quaint Bridge Restaurant which comes highly recommended.
 

The house is on 20 acres of rambling country side full of brambles and wild flowers. It is on the shore of lough Key and its large forest Park. A nature leads down to the shore which is also the habitat of many wild animals such as Dear, Fox, Rabbit and squirrell. The fishing is good and can be done from the private jetty at the end at the lake shore. You can moore your hired boat there or just go swimming. Lots of garden furniture on the Patio. the place is extremely private you will never be disturbed. There is complete silence except for the birds and the occasional cow.

The country house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin, 1 single and 1 cots, 3 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The country house has 3 bathrooms and 4 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the country house cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The country house has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. Recreational activities available with the country house include table tennis.

There is room for 7 in the living room and 7 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this country house.

Pets are welcome
we expect visitors with pets to respect the house as it is in excellent condition.

The country house is in a very quiet area. It has a south facing garden, a south facing patio area (with heater), panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The country house is right beside swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, a themepark.

Close to the country house you will find wind surfing, climbing, horse riding, golf, tennis, a sports center, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the country house you will find a beach.
