Set in two acres in the quiet hamlet of Le Grand Breuil, Logis de Tertre has open views of the agricultural landscape which in July and August is dominated by fields of sunflowers or maize. Constructed in the local stone Logis de Tertre is a typical Charentaise farmhouse. Careful conversion works by the owners have created two gites in the old stable and farmworkers house and much of the original stonework and timber beams has been retained to give a 'rustic' charm.

 

A short 3 minute drive from Logis de Tertre you will find our nearest market town, Mauze sur Le Mignon. A small weekly food market is held there every Wednesday morning, with a much larger market held on the first Wednesday of each month. A well stocked Intermarche supermarket will provide all your essential groceries and there are other boulangeries,traiteurs and pharmacies in the main street.
Several good restaurants can be found in the nearby villages of Usseau, Surgeres and La Laigne.
Hypermarkets, shops, bistros and restaurants can be found in abundance 30 minutes away either at La Rochelle or Niort.
 

 

Operated by resident English owners Christina and Mike Pearcy ,Logis de Tertre offers guests the choice of either 'Le Trisant' a two bedroom gite , or 'Le Bronwain' a four bedroom gite including a ground floor bedroom and bathroom facilities for the less-abled. Both gites have been created in the original 18th century Charentaise farmhouse buildings and adjoin the the owners residence. Both have open views of the countryside and direct access to a large level grassed playing field ideal for ball games etc. Outside each gite there is a dining area and barbecue

The gite comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 8 people.

The gite has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The gite has dvd. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. Recreational activities available with the gite include table tennis.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking gite

The gite is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The gite is right beside swimming.

Close to the gite you will find walking, cycling, tennis, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the gite you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, golf, historic sites, a museum, a zoo, shopping areas.
