Ta Petrina's beautifully restored and charmingly decorated village houses offer you the opportunity to spend a relaxing and comfortable holiday in the peace and quiet of the traditional village of Volissos on the unspoilt island of Chios Greece.Ta Petrina, which means "Stone Houses" in Greek, is a partnership between Michaelis, a local Greek builder, Patrick, an English carpenter who has lived in Volissos for the past ten years and our English friends. The houses have been renovated to a very high standard while keeping their traditional feel. The combination of Michaelis' building skills and local knowledge, together with Patrick's carpentry and his partner Maria's interior design expertise, have created a unique atmosphere in each house.

 

The highest house in the village, this large spacious stone built property is suitable for families. Nestling underneath the 11th Century Genoese castle, Panayiotis has spectacular views from its two terraces to both the sea and the mountains. Laid out on two floors, the house has been renovated and finished to a very high standard with local furniture and artifacts. The top floor is a large sunny sitting room/kitchen which opens out onto two separate terraces, safe for children, and a garden with an outside shower. The lower floor has a double bedroom with ensuite shower room, two twin bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and a second bathroom with bath. There is also a built in sofa-bed in the large open area at the bottom of the stairs.
The kitchen, with gas cooker, is very well equipped with everything you need for home cooking. There is a washing machine and the house is supplied with both beach and bath towels. The property is easily accessible by car.
 

The village is 2 km from its small port of Limnia and the nearest beaches of Lefkathia and Limnos. Just a little further away is the 6 km long Managros beach. Apart from these which ever way you go up or down the coast there are numerous beaches to choose from making it always easy to find a secluded spot to enjoy the crystal waters of the Aegean.
Volissos has many tavernas to choose from either down at the harbour and beach or up in the village, offering you a wide choice of good, traditional Greek food. There are also two cafe-bars in the port where you can sip your Ouzo watching the fishing boats come and go while the sun slips below the horizon.
Though it is possible to walk to the beaches we recommend that you rent a car or a motorbike which we can arrange for you and which will be waiting at the airport or delivered to Volissos.
As you sit on your terrace enjoying the mountains slowly turning pink in the last rays of the sun we hope that you will appreciate why we think that Volissos and our houses will allow you to relax, unwind and slowly slip into its peaceful rhythm. This quite tranquility broken only by the occasional hooting of an owl or braying of a donkey.

 

The country house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 single sofa bed. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The country house has 1 bathrooms for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the country house cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

There is room for 7 in the living room and 7 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a washing machine. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
