Gary & Judith would like to welcome you to our 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom luxury beach house property, complete with its own private pool. Located in the picturesque fishing village of Burgau on the Western Algarve.

The property is literally within a 5 minute walk to the blue flag beach and all of the village restaurants, bars, shops and supermarket. The property lies on a very quite cul-de-sac but within central Burgau making this the ideal location for enjoying the village’s amenities without the need for a car.

Recently completed in early 2007 the property has been furnished to an incredibly high specification. The property has air-conditioning as well as heating and has two master bedrooms, both en-suite. We have had installed a satellite TV system for everyone to enjoy the UK channels, especially the news and “soaps”. There is a state of the art sound system in the property, with a central CD changer for music in most rooms. You can even plug your I-POD or other MP3 player in and utilise the house speakers in each room. The villa has a luxury kitchen with all modern appliances and there is a second very large lounge/games room for those who would like to use the Playstation2 and or the Pool Table.

The property is surrounded on three sides with patio areas as well as our own private pool (5m x 3m) which gives lots of area for sun bathing or for catching bits of shade for those who prefer it. There is a brick built barbeque for alfresco dining. We have planted lots of raised flower beds and patio containers to give flora and fauna to give colour.

We have furnished the main lounge with soft Italian cream leather settees and all matching coffee tables and lamp tables together with a TV unit. The TV is a flat screen television and we have had installed a satellite system to give full access to all the UK channels. The dining area has a solid wood 8 place dining table together with granite inlays to give a matching look to the granite worktops in the luxury kitchen. The kitchen has all top of the range appliances and you can easily cook for a house full.

The two master bedrooms are both en-suite, the first having a double bed and the second being twin bedded. The first master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe/closet together with a safe. The en-suite bathroom has a massive walk-in shower together with a separate Jacuzzi bath. The second master bedroom has an enormous full wall of mirror wardrobes and the en-suite bathroom has a bath and shower.

There is a further large shower room for the other guests too use which contains WC and wash basin. Of great benefit for families will be the second very large lounge/games room with direct access through two sets of French doors to the pool area. This lounge also has a flat screen TV with a Playstation 2 together with some games (or you can take your own games to play). There are also lots of DVD’s and board games provided. The games room also has an excellent high quality pool table where children (as well as dads) can hone their pool skills.

All in all we have tried to create a beach house with luxury furnishings to suit both families and groups alike. We hope you like and would welcome you to our property.
 

The property lies in the heart of Burgau which is a picturesque fishing village on the Western Algarve.

You can drive to the house within one hour from Faro airport or we can arrange transfers to and from the airport for those that prefer not to drive. Once at the house a car is definitely not needed as you are in the heart of the village and walk to most places within about 5 minutes. A car would however give you greater freedom to explore the region which has so much to offer.

To the West of Burgau lies Salema and to the East lies Praia da Luz, both lovely beach resorts. Further to the West you can drive to Sagres and Cape St Vincent where the views are incredible. These are easily reached within half an hour in the car.

Within a 10 minute drive of our house is Lagos which for those that have not been is quite simply stunning. You have the new marina with a great diversity of boats and yachts where you can spend hours in the bars and restaurants just people watching or you can wander around the old town with their cobbled streets and squares containing a myriad of local and speciality shops etc. Lagos is truly a special place and you can enjoy either during the day or at night too.

Literally outside our house you can enjoy coastal walks both in an East and West direction and this will especially appeal to walkers and nature lovers alike.

For those who prefer not to drive, approx 200 yards from the property is the local bus stop from where you can catch regular buses to Lagos, Lux, Salema and even Sagres.
 

Our house is the perfect place to stay from which to enjoy a full range of sports and leisure activities. Within a 20 minute drive are 6 truly superb golf courses, the closest being Boa Vista (5 mins by car) and next being Parque da Floresta (10 mins by car), but my personal favourite is Pinta which is approx 20 minutes by car. However there are so many different golf courses close by that you are quite literally spoiled for choice. The others close by are Palmares, Penina and Gramacho.However there are more than twenty golf courses within an hours drive.

Another favourite of ours on holiday is tennis, and we have provided rackets and balls that can be used at both the Burgau sports centre courts (within walking distance) or at the Parque da Floresta courts (10 mins drive). Also at the Parque da Floresta area is a luxury spa facility for those who like to indulge in some serious pampering and treatments.

The open country side to the East and West of Burgau is ideal for walkers and bird watchers and general nature lovers alike. There is a local horse riding school within 5 minutes drive who offer an excellent array of rides both for the experienced and newcomers alike.

Perhaps one of our favourite activities whilst on holiday is to go on one of the Dolphin Safari’s from Lagos marina. These are truly a memorable experience and one not to be missed by kids and adults alike.

For surfers, the rugged west coast beaches, with their long Atlantic rollers, are an irresistible target. For the truly adventurous, there are opportunities for parasailing, paragliding and even learning to fly microlight aircraft. Scuba divers can explore caves and wrecks in the nearby coastal waters, and discover an abundance of sea life.

The waters around the Cape St. Vincent peninsula are among the best in Europe for big-game fishing. Well-equipped boats are available from Lagos Marina. The beaches in the Western Algarve are among the most beautiful and least crowded in Europe

Choose from among the many sheltered sandy coves along the South coast, or venture a little further a field to one of the more dramatic West coast beaches, open to the full force of the Atlantic swell.

Restaurants both in Burgau and also Praia da Luz and Salema as well as Lagos are plentiful and excellent. You will find predominately Portuguese food (specialising in locally caught fish as well as Lamb dishes) as well as Italian, Chinese, Indian and French and English restaurants. In our visitors book we have listed our favourites and welcome guests to add ones they also find.
 

The house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 3 twin and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has 3 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the house cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The house has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. Recreational activities available with the house include a snooker/pool table.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The house is in a very quiet area. It has a private swimming pool, a patio area, a balcony, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Close to the house you will find cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, tennis, historic sites, a zoo, a theatre/cinema.

SUE & TIM says: "Lovely spacious and clean villa, all mod cons. The pool was good, however very cold, I don't know whether this warms up through the year - we went to this villa late March early April. There is some building work going on in the area, but it did not affect the property. The vilage is very quiet (which we liked) but then again we did not go in high season. There are spectacular cliff walks from Bergau to Praia de Luz, this will take about an hour, but well worth it. We enjoyed several meals out in the village, and didn't find fault with any of them, the people were very friendly. Overall impression of this property and the area is that we would definitely come back again."
