Apartment holidays in Monte Gordo are very popular but it is often difficult to locate an apartment in the resort itself, and many holidaymakers from the UK are either obliged to stay in a hotel or book an apartment either inland or further along the coast. This apartment is ideally situated for those who don’t wish to depend on a car to get about, as it’s just off the esplanade and within sight of several bars, cafes, and restaurants. It has two large bedrooms, with built in wardrobes, and two bathrooms (one en-suite) and is both spacious and relaxing whilst being in the heart of town. 

The Eastern Algarve is less developed than the resorts to the west of Faro, but Monte Gordo caters for most tastes and is ideal for family beach holidays. It is a town popular with holidaymakers from Portugal and Spain, as well as those from Germany, Holland, and the UK. There are plenty of daytime activities with the golfer well catered for (as in the rest of the Algarve) and for the more energetic there are bicycles for hire, and 4 wheel drive safaris into the more remote areas of the region. There are river and coastal cruises from Tavira and Vila Real, and organized trips to all the other main attractions in the Algarve.

At night the town comes alive with people out for a meal, shopping, or just strolling along the seafront before the sun goes down late in the evening. Lively it is, but noisy it’s not, and all night clubbers are not well catered for.
 

Monte Gordo bay boasts an unbroken stretch of sand stretching over a distance of about 15km from the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve in the west to the River Guadiana on the Spanish border in the east. The beaches at Altura, Praia Verde, and Manta Rota are especially popular, but still have acres of space, and are well worth a visit. The historic towns of Tavira and Castro Marim are only a short distance away, and the local capital of Vila Real de Santo Antonio with its marina and ferry to Spain is just a few minutes drive. To the north of Monte Gordo are salt pans and another nature reserve stretching to the Guadiana river called Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim, a haven for many wading birds as well heron, flamingos, and storks.

Taxis are plentiful with a taxi rank on the seafront, and there are regular bus services from Monte Gordo to many places in the Algarve - as well as direct services to Lisbon and Seville! The railway station is less than 10 minutes walk from the town centre, and the line terminates at nearby Vila Real, but in the opposite direction trains call at several small villages as well as the larger towns of Tavira, Olhao, and Faro. There are fast trains from Faro to Lisbon and Oporto in the north, as well as local services to towns in the Western Algarve. 

There are fitted wardrobes in both bedrooms. One of the 3-seater settees in the lounge can be converted to a double bed. There is also a table and chairs for use on the balcony. Beach mats, umbrellas, and beach chairs are supplied for use of guests at no additional charge.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the Lounge. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool.
