There are two bedrooms one (1st floor) with a king size bed and bathroom en suite, the second bedroom (ground floor) has 2 single beds and bathroom en suite. The open plan kitchen/ dining room has an open fire, couch, two chairs and coffee table, dining table and chairs. There is a gas cooking hob, pots, kitchen ware and utensils and fridge/freezer.

Outdoors
A shaded balcony outside the kitchen dining room is perfect for outdoor dining and the house comes with garden table and chairs for this purpose. There is also a barbeque.
The house is situated on 600m2 of land filled with olive and fruit trees.

The house is a 10 minute drive from the coast and 5 mins from the nearest historic town of Ostuni. The nearest beach is Costa Merlata.
 

While there is lots to do and see in the surrounding area the house on its own land is ideal for those who really want a relaxing get away. Rambling around the local ancient town of Ostuni and a couple of hours at the nearby beach complemented by an evening barbeque outside the house listening to the crickets and cicadas makes for a complete and relaxing break.

There are lots of things to do in this part of Apulia as follows:

Ostuni
- beautiful town perched on a hill 5mins drive away with an old historic centre with very old cathedral and central plaza.

Fasano
- lovely little old town with a pretty central square and a safari zoo for children (see leaflet in red file) The shops are closed on Mondays in this town.

Lecce
- a beautiful historic city with an old historic centre and beautiful churches and little curiosity shops and great delicatessen. ( an hour’s drive) This has a market on Friday mornings. See the red folder in the house for a map showing all the attractions.

Trulli villages of Alberobello & Locorotondo
These villages are a bit touristy but you will be able to see over a thousand trullo, cone shaped houses and a trullo church, all in one place. Head west from Ostuni and they are about a 20-25 min drive away.

Caves of Castellana Grotte
These caves are meant to be spectacular and worth a visit.

Car Recommended
Please note that the villa is situated on a narrow road and is unsuitable for very wide or very long vehicles. A car is highly recommended for this villa as you would need to drive to local shops and restaurants.

 

Puglia is a region of very old traditions and has a vast historical and cultural heritage.

Typical landscapes of the area such as the “trulli” in Alberobello, the white city of Ostuni, the Castellana caves, the safari-zoo in Fasano and other characteristic places in Salento like Otranto and Gallipoli are all within driving distance.

OSTUNI

Perfect for those who want to:
- enjoy the countryside views
- explore the lovely villages and historic towns nearby
- taste the authentic Italian Puglian cuisine at the local Osteria and restaurants in the towns nearby
- visit the local music festivals and festas in the region during the summer months
- relax on the nearby sandy beaches and coves

Apulia is a traditional Italian holiday area with a great reputation for its local cuisine. Eating out is a wonderful experience at the characterful "Osteria" in all the surrounding historic towns (especially the antipasti). Food and drink is much cheaper than the UK and Ireland, especially if you buy in the colourful local markets.

The villa is a 30 min drive from Brindisi airport which has good deals from Stansted with Ryanair. It is a 2.5 hour flight and flights normally leave early evening. There is also the option of Bari airport which is just over an hour's drive away.

The country house comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the portable. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.
