The Cherry Tree trullo was constructed in 1903 and has 8 cones (conical rooftops). It is found at the end of a lane, 15 min drive from Martina Franca, Alberobello and Locorotondo, in the unspoilt countryside of the Valle d'Itria. The Cherry Tree trullo has a private pool and is set in the middle of a 3.5 acre cherry orchard which is completely surrounded by a dry stone wall. Newly renovated (May 2007) it provides superb accommodation for up to 5 people.

Beside the trullo is a terrace which is shaded by a pergola and has a barbecue and patio furniture.
Roman steps lead into the private 5m x 10m pool which has a shallow end of 1.00m and a deep end of 2.20m. There is a terrace with sun beds and an outside shower beside the pool.

A car is essential to enjoy the surrounding area.

 

The Olive Harvest - we collect our olives in early to mid November at the Cherry Tree Trullo, only on warm sunny days otherwise it is not a pleasure. We usually picnic (with our own wine, of course!). The olives are taken to the olive mill for pressing into our own delicious, extra virgin olive oil.
You are welcome to join us for the harvest. 

 

Beach towels are also provided. Baby-sitting can be arranged. As we are resident in this area we are on hand to offer assistance/advice should it be required.

The farm house comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the living area. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The farm house has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use.

The farm house has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 5 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking farm house

The farm house is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The farm house is right beside swimming, walking.

Close to the farm house you will find historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find a beach, golf, a zoo, a themepark.

5 min to the nearest restaurant which is in a Masseria ( old farmstead). 15 min to the Aqua Park.

Graeme says: "This is a holiday for couples or those with young children who are easily entertained. The trullo is beautiful and romantic, but in a very rural setting, several kilometers from a town with no real nightlife. We loved it! The owners are extremely friendly and hepful and have done everything they can to provide comfort and amenities. Car hire is essential and SatNav is really useful - we took our own. The only drawback is that meals out are not really an everyday option - but spending time out in the fascinating local towns durign the day and cooking in the evening is a good plan. Local nightlife is fascinating and around sunset you can watch the bats in the light from the illuminated pool!"
