Chez Kansei (meaning harmony & perfection) is a lovingly restored and converted (Nov 2006) 4 bedroom, traditional Périgourdine stone farmhouse and barn, spacious with original features in every room. Situated on a hillside in a lovely rural hamlet the house is a haven of peace that includes a private pool & BBQ in large, luscious landscaped gardens, huge surrounding terrace, private courtyard and enough private hard standing off road parking for 4 large cars.

Upstairs in the house are four beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a double bed and two singles. The remaining two bedrooms each have two single beds. These are easily converted to large doubles if preferred and of course beds can always be moved around. This means the property is not only ideal for families and friends, but also for groups of enthusiastic walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers or painters wishing to base themselves somewhere they can relax after a good day's activity.

Upstairs there is also a cosy 'nook' with original features including large fireplace, stone sink & comfortable seating. This area is ideal for escaping for a bit of private time and has a beautiful view of the garden and pool below. There are two new fully fitted bathrooms plus a separate loo.

The ground floor comprises two reception rooms, one with original stone fireplace, hi-fi system & DVD/TV & fully equipped large kitchen/dining room with wood burning stove in feature fireplace. Wi-Fi broadband internet access and telephone also available if required.

An 8 min drive takes you to the 'Little Venice of France', Brantome with its beautiful boutiique shops, fine restaurants, cafe society & myriad sports/activities.

An equidistant 30 min drive North and South are the two beautiful Roman Cities of Anglouleme and Perigueux with their stunning cathedrals, Perigueux's overlooking the river; respective wonderful shops and markets.

As well as all utilities, bed linen and bathroom towels; welcome drinks & essentials hamper are included in the total price. On-site gourmet dining is also available.

There is a veritable feast of things to do in this part of the Perigord region in the Dordogne. Walking, cycling and boating as well as driving can take you to famous and outstandingly interesting cities, towns & villages within easy distance of the gite. The Dronne, one of the most beautiful rivers of the Dordogne can be enjoyed by walks along its banks, cycling or taking one or more of the many and varied boating possibilities available.

This area is world famous for its food and wine and there are excellent restaurants to suit every pocket. Many vineyards will make you exceptionally welcome and of course obligatory wine tasting if you wish!

Lots of fun and sporty activities to keep you and the kids happy including hot air ballooning, swimming pools, golf courses, tennis and horse riding. These are just a handful of the plentifulactivities available. There are inland beaches by the side of lakes and several places where you can hire 1, 2 or 3 seater canoes for fun filled trips along the rivers.

Finally and certainly not least, there are castles, chateaux, museums and Abbeys as well as famous caves to visit and explore.

 

Home cooked meals/drinks are available that can be delivered to your gite or served in a private dining room with full waiting service. Pets are welcome subject to an additional cleaning fee of £15 GBP. Pool drinks/food, pool towels, daily maid, dog walking and creche facilities are also available for modest cost.

This property is ideal for Autumn/Winter letling as it is FULLY centrally heated. It also enjoys a traditional log burning fire that sends heat spiralling thoughout the entire house keeping you and yours toasty and warm on those crisp wintry evenings.

The house comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 2 twin and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The house has 2 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The house has television video, dvd. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls and a fax machine.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
