Quietly nestled above the rippling wavelets of the Aegean Sea, Aeolos Villa offers a unique retreat in one of the most splendid and environmentally protected locations of Attica, a breath away from the historic site of Marathon.

Indulge yourself in our picturesque home directly above the Aegean Sea. Enjoy the cool waters of our nearby sandy beach. Relax in our veranda with the majestic, Santorini-like views. Drink your chilled daiquiri experiencing the serenity of a house built on a hill overlooking the sparkling waters of the Aegean.

The house was constructed in year 2002. It is located inside Schinias National Park, northeast of Athens, only a
3 minutes drive to a sandy beach with pine forest, 2’ to rocky beach, 3’ to taverns, 15’ from historic site of Marathon, 20’ from the town of Nea Makri, 60’ from International Airport and 55 Kms from downtown Athens.

We’ll do our best to make every penny of your visit worthwhile spending, every memory a reason for your future return.

 

Our house can accommodate up to 7 guests. It consists of 2 bedrooms with 1 double bed each and 1 bedroom with one single bed and a wooden loft with a double size mattress, ideal for children• 1 bathroom with bathtub and 1 with shower, plus outdoors shower with H/C water• kitchen, dining room with enough space for 10 people and living room with fireplace, indoors garage, verandas, and the garden of a 1080m2 plot).

- Should we rent a car?

Those who want to venture into downtown Athens on their own, can catch the bus either from Schinias beach (3’ minutes drive from our house) or from Marathon village (at a distance of 12 kms), and then take the brand new metro that practically gets you everywhere. Pls note, however, that, while bus service from Marathon village is quite reliable –every 30’ during high season –we can not say the same for the buses that leave from Schinias beach. Cancellations of scheduled itineraries have proved disastrous for some of our friends in the past… For short distances, however, (bus station, nearest super market, Schinias beach, night life, etc.), we strongly recommend that you rent your own car.

-What do we do during our stay? Places to see.

That is totally up to you. You could enjoy the sea and spend the day in oriental laziness, or you could try some of the various water activities (including water surfing and jet ski), offered in the crystal clear waters of Schinias Beach.
There is always the possibility of visiting nearby Marathon historic site, the archeological site of Ramnous and the Marathon Museum.
You can spend the entire day in Athens, visiting Acropolis, the Archeological Museum, picturesque Plaka with its numerous taverns, Lycabetus Hill for an overwhelming view of the city and so many more…
For short tours around Athens, there is the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, with its unique sunset, the Kutuki cave at mount Hymetus, the Temple of Artemis at Vravrona…
You can catch the ferry from the port of Rafina, at a 45’ drive from our house and visit some of the most beautiful Cycladic islands, like Myconos, Andros and Tinos, or you can cross by ferry the short distance from the port of Aghia Marina (only 15’ drive from our house) to Stira, and enjoy the island of Evia.
For more extensive tours around Greece, including overnights or not, you have a vast variety of choices, from the temple of Mycenae, to Olympia and the oracle of Delphi, from the mountain perched monasteries of Meteora and the evergreen mountain of Pelion, to Byzantine Mystras and Sparta…
Whatever your needs, we can plan your visit together. All you have to do is get to our house in Schinias. There you can sit back with a chilled caipirinha, and leave the rest to us. Whether you decide to rent a car and go on your own, or let us take you to a new destination, we can promise you that every trip will be a memorable and pleasant adventure. From visits to small, family owned , wineries and small taverns with the ‘best ouzo ever’, to hidden beaches off the beaten track and picnic excursions . -Where do we dine?
There are many fish and grilled meat taverns at a 3’ minutes drive from our house, where you can enjoy excellent food at the edge of the sea, feeling the soft sand under your bare feet. At Nea Makri, in only 20’ drive from Schinias, you can dine in a vast variety of restaurants (greek, italian and vietnamese). You also have the possibility of ordering pizza delivered at home, or, for those who prefer cooking themselves, there is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, cooker, dish washer, and all the necessary crockery and cutlery.

-Night Life
Cinemas, beach bars and clubs at a 3’ to 20’ minute drive, or a quiet stroll along the little harbor of Nea Makri. That is, provided there is no full moon, because, in that case, you’ll most certainly prefer to enjoy your drink in our candle lit veranda…

-What to pack
Only your bathing suits, clothing, personal items, sunscreen lotion and dozens of films…We’ll provide linen and towels, road maps, isothermal bags to keep your fruit cold, snorkeling gear for your dives… If you are trekking oriented, bring a pair of sturdy shoes and a lot of anticipation!

 

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 3 double and 1 cots. The property also has 1 single sofa bed. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television video, dvd. The music system will play cassettes, vinyl records, cds, radio. A computer with Internet connection is also available for your use. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 10 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a garden, a patio area, a balcony, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside a beach, swimming, walking.

Close to the villa you will find sailing, water skiing, wind surfing, fishing, horse riding, tennis, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a sports center, a zoo.

Me and my 6 friends stayed in the villa...all male..which to some people would probably cause a problem. Not to Rosa and Stavros... Once you have booked the villa Rosa will keep in constant contact with you...even though she has a busy lifestyle to keep..she really cares about your stay. Any needs you have...Rosa and Stavros will try and meet them... The villa is their home..and when you get there you realise that it is more than just a retreat..it is cared for...a place to relax...plan where you want to go next...and Stavros is always on hand to take you there. I honestly cannot say enough about this family run villa...If you read all the other reviews about this family you will know about their daughter Danae..she is the most loveable little girl you will ever want to meet..this really is the perfect retreat with whatever you want from a holiday."
