A car is not essential, it is gently stroll downhill to the main street, but quite steep walking back, however taxis cost 4 euro from the main street to the house. The route to and from the supermarket is flat, it is possible to go down hill to main street then around to the supermarket and back to the house, about half an hour stroll. Down in the city centre, there in the marina which has a bar, the harbour where it is possible to buy fish from one of the auction houses, hot rocks restaurant canto do duc, the famous Peter cafe sport. These are all between 1 and 1.5 kms away from the house.
