Situated in Lanzarote, a Biosphere Reserve, on the edge of the Timanfaya National Park (Chimanfaya), part of the municipality of Yaiza, and more precisely in Uga:
This is a Canary Island rural house, on the outskirts of the village of Uga, only 1,500 m as the crow flies from the Fuego Mountains, and 5 minutes away from the nearest beach: Playa Quemada.
It lies in the centre of an imaginary circumference, a stone’s throw and equal distance from the beaches of Papagayo, Blanca Beach("Faro Pechigueras" Beaches, Flamingo Beach, Dorada Beach), the Salinas del Janubio, El Paso Beach, El Golfo, Puerto del Carmen (Chica Beach, Grande Barranco el Kikere Beach...) Puerto Calero (marina), Costa Teguise, Famara Beach, Tinajo
The village is the ideal point of departure for cyclists and hikers, where in an approximate radius of 15/20 km you will find La Geria. Hiking Costa Los Ajaches, Los Placeres-Janubio (Charcones), several hiking routes from Femés, Las Casitas de Femés, Quemada Beach...
The perfect location with an excellent all-year-round climate
The house was built at the beginning of the 20th Century and registered in 1923 by the Yaiza Town Hall, to which the village of Uga belongs to. It has been built in an austere and simple style.
It preserves certain features which led its owners to address the Lanzarote Island Authorities, and more precisely the Historical Heritage Department, for it to be named as a place of cultural interest.
For several decades it housed "Los Grandes Almacenes" (or Large Village Shop), the only one of its kind to be found between Tías and Playa Blanca, according to the stories of the some of the old folk from the area.
Whatever the product, anything could be bought here, from whey to buying textile products, food or fuel.
Today. what remains of its times as a shop are some measuring tools such as its scales, oil measuring containers, etc...
Sadly, the wood of its shelves has had to be removed because of its poor condition.
Actually, one of the rooms of the accommodation was originally the shop storeroom.
The house has had an extension built on two occasions by the previous owners. Its current owners have been carrying out the restoration work themselves for the last few years.
Every accommodation has an independent entrance and includes:
The bedroom, double bed, a large wooden balcony. (Canary Island granary).
The kitchen, practical and equipped with its own proper utensils. A fridge.
A complete bathroom equipped with a shower. WC.
Bed, bathroom and kitchen linen. Hot water
Hi-fi (radio, cassette, CD)
Cot. Babies are included in the accommodation rate up to 2 years of age.
Advice on the leisure activities; car rental, cycling. All in the most favourable conditions available on the market for our Guests.

A support service for those who are travelling alone, suffer from agoraphobia, do not like driving or simply want to feel accompanied on their visits to the island. The service is arranged where required.

Prior bookings are made for leisure activities (under water diving courses, tandem abseiling/hang gliding, mountain bikes, etc...) as well as the renting of a means of transport, at no additional cost.

• Heating. If requested, a "Thermal 2001 Heater (Radiator)" or similar will be provided with a deposit of 130 euros for which a receipt will be given. This will be reimbursed once it has been received in the same conditions of use and physical appearance as it was given. Fee: 3 euros/day.
• Without any extra hidden costs (for example, the charge of a day’s accommodation for the final cleaning).
• The activity at the Rural House Finca Uga is governed by the Rural Tourism Regulations of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, R. D. 18/98 and its later modifications.

Clients description/opinion
This is the hidden Lanzarote, the Lanzarote that nobody tells you about. Like an olivine on the beach of El Golfo, Uga is a small green jewel in the lava landscape. Away from the ubiquitous sunscreen and sand centres, we had a uniquely different view of the island and people of Lanzarote. Alfonso is a fabulous host, thoughtfully responding to our every need with maps, advice and books from his own library, as we walked and motored around the island. Occasionally, there appeared at our door artfully presented morsels of local food: goat's cheese, gofio and delicate sweet potato pasties we had been asking about. The accommodation is comfortable, the kitchen well supplied with basic utensils and the sunken garden offers both breezy and sheltered sunbathing. Clean, convenient, peaceful,and hospitable place in a lovely village.
