Central Norway cabin rent details
Your cabin...
Cosy cottage in a lovely mountain area with a view of Gålå lake and the surrounding hills. Well equipped and nicely furnished with a cosy living room with a fireplace and a sunny terrace. Things to do outdoors all year round. Non-smoking house.
Gala...
Welcome to Gala Høgfjellshotell, where people and mountains meet in a truly Norwegian atmosphere, and where hospitality is rooted in good, old-fashioned Gudbrandsdalen valley culture. When you are out and about in the mountains around Gala, it is easy to imagine that Peer Gynt might suddenly appear from behind a rock. Your children will probably be on the lookout for pixies and other small trolls.
GalaHøgfjellshotell is situated at the heart of the Gudbrandsdalen valley, approx. 930 metres above sea level. The spectacular views over Lake Gala and the peaks of Jotunheimen make mountain adventures here a must all year round.
Visit Gala for its skiing trails in the winter, to see the mountains come alive in the spring, to be rejuvenated by the mountains in the summer, or to experience the dazzling colours of the mountains in the autumn.
When you have had enough fresh air for one day, why not succumb to temptations of a culinary nature in cosy surroundings? Our friendly staff will do their utmost to ensure that you enjoy your stay and feel at home. The Gudbrandsdalen valley sports some of the best fresh produce in Norway, and many master chefs have grown up in the region.
Come and enjoy idyllic surroundings, adventures and fun-packed days!
GALA Ski Arena
Socialising and the wonderful countryside are at the heart of all the activities at the Gala Ski Arena. Our 15 alpine ski runs, on either side of the valley, encourage you to experience speed and have fun on runs of varying degrees of difficulty and with challenges for everyone who wants to go skiing.
Gala is perfect for families and groups of people with different skiing requirements or different levels of ability. Our unique combination of alpine and cross-country skiing means that we have something for everyone, spiced up with a wide range of activities and excellent children’s clubs.
There is plenty to choose from, but everything is in one place. When you arrive, you can park your car and use your skis for the rest of your holiday, whether you want to go cross-country skiing or head for the slopes.
And although you will be able to enjoy the peace and harmony of the winter landscape, you also have the option of participating in the many activities we offer whenever you like.
GALA summer arena
Spend time with your family. Take time by yourself. The best time is the time you spend on enjoyable experiences, interesting activities and exciting challenges. Gala lies at the heart of magnificent countryside, with all activities based on fantastic scenery and local culture.
During spring and autumn it is quiet in the mountains. Too many activities are unnecessary when the scenery is at its finest. A walk in really windy weather can be enough for you to deserve a relaxing massage, a quick snooze and a good dinner. When there are lots of colours in the mountains, you might just want to sit wrapped up in a blanket and enjoy the view, and once you have taken in the colours, and your thoughts have been allowed to wander in peace for a while, you may feel like giving your body some exercise by taking on some of the challenges that Gala has to offer.
We also have very good fishing traditions here at Gala, and there are many opportunities, whether you want to fish using a rod or a net. And what about a glacier walk on Smørstabbreen, or a canoe safari across 4 mountain lakes with stops for bathing and a barbeque lunch? Or a historic walk taking in cultural heritage sites, and a visit to the birthplace of the local Gudbrandsdalen cheese? Maybe a trip to the top of Valsfjell by chairlift, and then on into the mountains and down the alpine skiing runs on a mountain bike? The possibilities are endless, and after dark you can go on an elk safari with a guide and minibus! Don’t forget your camera. Visit the restaurants on the slopes too!
