Our home was bought brand new in 2006. It was chosen by us for a combination of factors - primarily proximity to the beach and airport, therby allowing its use without the need for car hire and short transfers to and from the airport.

The "town house" style is very versatile offering fantastic family accomodation in a really great location. The interior is tastefully decorated with all the home comforts including high quality lounge furniture and a "memory foam" double bed in the master bedroom.

So why choose our house over similar properties ?

It is in one of the best locations in Monte Y Mar - the attractive garden is enhanced by tastefull planting including orange and lemon trees. The garden is one fo the largest available for this type of property and as such offers enough space for all the party to enjoy sunbathing and alfresco dining.

The house is unoverlooked (frontline) and its South facing aspect keeps the house warm in winter and offers the potential of day long sun onto the front garden - regardless of the time of year you visit.

The house is equipped with full airconditioning throughout, which can be switched to a heat mode in winter if needed.

The kitchen is well equipped with all of the white goods you would expect to find in your own home and affords the guest the ability to really "self cater" if you choose not to eat out at the many available establishments in Gran Alacant.

This design of house has a large, private roof solarium, which is perfect for undisturbed sunbathing and is also equipped with a roof shower for the really hot days.

The large communal pool is less than 150 metres from the house and is open all year round with access via a electronic key fob which ensures privacy and protects the area from unauthorised guests

 

Gran Alacant, is situated, is a mainly residential area and perfect for families - it is just a few miles south of the historical and vibrant city of Alicante and just to the north of the traditional Spanish seaside town of Santa Pola.

Urbanisation Monte Y Mar (Mountains & Sea) is located in the hills above Alicante Bay, there are excellent views from the roof across to the bay of Alicante to the castle of Santa Barbara and northwards to the mountains of Crevillente.

The few miles distance to the airport make Gran Alacant a particularly good place to stay as you can be in our holiday home within 15 minutes of leaving the airport and, because G. A is not on the flight path, there is no aircraft noise.

Gran Alacant and Monte Y Mar has a mixture of townhouses and apartments on a number of different Urbanizations with a residential feel that has a peaceful quiet ambience. The neighbouring area to our house is quite cosmopolitan with an interesting mixture of nationalities – mainly Spanish, British and Scandinavian – yet it does have a typical Spanish feel. This is reflected in the bars and restaurants in the area where you can find traditional Spanish tapas restraunts, high quality steak houses and for those that do prefer British style food there are venues for every taste.

There is a good quality supermarket nearby (MaxCoop) which is less than a 10 minute walk from the house where you can buy everything you need for your holiday having a excellent butcher for the barbeque supplies and a great selection of very cheap wine.

If you are driving - the larger Consum, Lidl and Mecadona supermarkets are less less than 5 minutes drive from our home at the G.A Commercial Centre - along with numerous other shops, resteraunts and bars.

Within close walking distance of the house is also a chemist, banks (all with cash machines), bakery, excellent bodega, internet cafés, hairdressers, and a car rental agency .

Night life in Gran Alacant is fairly low key with but there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from all within walking distance of the house with live music in the Cinema bar and the Beer House down at the G.A Commercial Centre.

A 20 minute walk down to the Carabassi bars will provide lots of opportunity for British, Spanish, Dutch, Chinese and Indian cuisine. - someting for everyones taste !

The real attraction of the area is that you have one of the best beaches in the Costa Blanca on your doorstep (5 min drive - 20 min walk) with a fantatstic beach bar, parasols and sunloungers it is a perfect place to relax. 

With easy access to Alicante city and the excellent motorway network, there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. Less than 40 minutes by car is the exciting Terra Mitica theme park just outside Benidorm. Also for children at Benidorm are the superb water park Aqualandia which is next to Mundomar sea life centre.

Nearby Santa Pola has a great selection of restaurants from simple tapas bars to the high quality dining around the newly opened Marina area.

For a really great night out, nearby Alicante has numerous bars, restaurants and night clubs catering for all tastes and that coupled along with superb shopping rivals Barecelona as the Spanish coastal city of choice.

 

The private roof solarium equipped with 3 sunbeds, table and 4 chairs. For the really hot days there is a cooling roof shower. In the front garden there is a large barbeque available for use for outdoor dinng and lots of nice furniture (2 tables and 4 chairs) along with a large parasol for the very hot days There is also a adult mountain bike available for guests. There is a full range of facilities in the kitchen including a 4 ring ceramic hob, full size oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and automatic washing machine. For your trips to the beach there is a good sized cool box (and freezer blocks) along with some lightweight beach chairs if you dont want to hire the sunloungers on the beach. All bath and hand towels as well as bed linen are provided for the duration of your stay and there are "beach towels" available in the house for your use. The 5th bed is a single sofa bed which can be located in your choice of room

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the Can be located in either bedroom or downstairs. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Dave & Cath says: "A really beautifull property - we only used it as a base for exploring the area and going into Alicante, but we were pleasantly suprised by the tranquility of the coast around Gran Alacant and the quality of this particular house. There was a lot of choice around Gran Alacant for renting holiday homes but this house is really exellent. The house is very nicely furnished and as has been mentioned by other reviewers, it really is in one of the best spots in the area. Coming out of season it was really nice to sit in the sun-trap that is the front garden of tyhis house, you are sheltered from the wind and it realy is perefectly possible to sunbathe into the afternoon - even in Dec ! "
