Casas Karen, consists out of a group of 6 lovely Moorish houses and 2 Chozas (very typical and authentic in this areas of La Janda, built out of straw which Karen renovated to make them for you as a living-space of today. Therefore you can join a real African/ Moorish atmosphere in combination with the western necessities we are used to. Very romantic..... and a big adventure !

The houses and chozas can be found on 8.000 m2 of natural grounds, at the foot of the Natural Park of La Breňa (forest wood with umbrella pine trees and a nesting place for seagulls, kestrels, owls and buzzards) and just 5 minutes walk from the nice white and sandy beaches of Los Caňos de Meca by the blue Atlantic Ocean : A wild and unspoiled coast of Southern Spain, Andalucia, in the province of Cadiz.

Casas Karen, La Fuente del Madroño lies close to the Atlantic Ocean, and has grown organically over the years. The decoration takes its inspiration from the local surroundings; local here meaning Andalucian and Moroccan - the high mountains of the Magreb are visible on clear days. You can choose between several different types of living space within our 8.000 M2 of grounds. We provide lots of information in our House and Visitor´s Books where we and our previous guests have put comments and suggestions, together with impressions of this beautiful place. Examples are: walks and rides in the Natural Park just behind the houses; the many different types of beaches nearby; bars, restaurants where to get organic vegetables, natural products, aromatic massages, yoga, workshops... Typical Andalucian country homes, at the foot of the natural park and 5 min. walk to the beach.

The cottage comprises 1 bedrooms in total; 1 double and 1 cots. The property also has 2 single sofa beds located in the in livingroom. This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The cottage has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this cottage.

The cottage is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a west facing garden, a west facing patio area, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The cottage is right beside a beach, swimming, wind surfing, fishing, climbing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, tennis, historic sites, a restaurant, a food shop.

Close to the cottage you will find sailing, horse riding, golf, a sports center, scuba diving, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas.

Within easy reach of the cottage you will find flying, a zoo, a themepark.

Dancing: together with authentic Flamenco Shows or Festivals in the local cafe(s).

Visit the historic monuments : Pheonician, Cartagininian and Roman influences.

Review submitted by non-Villarenters customer: We are visiting Casas Karen now for about 15 years in winter and summertime. After every time we stayed we went back home with a marvellous feeling. We suggested Karen to use the Villarenter system so a wide range of people are also able to join here beautifull place. A lot of our friends are visiting Casas Karen and they all are very very satisfied and enthousiastic. All the houses are beautifull decorated, clean and comfortable, also in wintertime..
