With an overall population of 37,000, the 'old town', as it is known, is a bustling and atmospheric centre.

Estepona is one of the few coastal towns that has succeeded in maintaining its pueblo charm and character, despite the onslaught of tourism. However, all the tourist facilities are here, including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities, and shops.

The flip side is that the numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies and the steep, cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars. You'll also find unusual shops and bodegas in Estepona, where you'd least expect them, all very inviting, very friendly - and very cheap!

Costa Galera is a luxury resort of apartments, penthouses and Villas. It is an oasis of tranquility with landscaped tropical gardens, swimming pools, streams and water falls.

The Local Area

Located near to the small coastal towns of Sabinillas and Puerto de la Duquesa Marina, some 6km west of the thriving and sought after seaside town of Estepona. Inland lies the picturesque hill villages of Manilva and Casares.

Fashionable Puerto Banus and Marbella are 20 and 25 minutes drive. Malaga's exceptionally welll served airport is about 50 minutes drive via the splendid Mediterranean motorway or new Toll Road and Gibraltar about 25 minutes drive away.

Other places of interest within easy striking distance include: Ronda, Benahavis, Mijas, and many of "the white villages".
Within a couple of hours are the historic cities of Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba and Granada and the snow ski resort of the Sierra Nevada.

Golfers are spoilt for choice - with some 60 courses to choose from including Guadalamina and Valderrama. There are five golf courses within 5 minutes drive way!

Other sports and recreational pursuits are equally well catered for - or just relax with a glass of Rioja, enjoy the climate all year round and watch the world stroll by.

Peter says: "The penthouse was very nice with good views and was spotless inside. Having three bathrooms was very useful as well if there is a large party of people. All the kitchen appliances were top notch. We would definitely recommend this penthouse. It is easy to get to and has a number of swimming pools in walking distance. However there is a for sale sign on it so dont know how long it will be available."
