The spacious house with room for lots of friends and family to get together and the peace and quiet is what makes Finca Lucia different. It stands in its own 12 acre grounds of gardens, wood, olive and almond groves and wildlife areas and has panoramic views of the surrounding rolling farmland and mountains. The large pool, barbeque and lovely patio are hard to leave, but there is lots to do in the area (though not much in the way of "tourist attractions")

It is a country lovers' paradise, with plentiful birds like hoopoe, golden oriole, bee-eaters and great spotted cuckoos. You can just walk through the grounds and into a never ending network of tracks, maybe spotting hare, fox, badger and wild boar as you roam. 

The azure waters of Lake Negratin beckon! You can eat at a choice of lakeside restaurants with fantastic views, or find your own hidden spot for a picnic by the shore. Kayaking can be arranged, and the water is beautifully warm for a summer dip.

Those with a head for heights can make for the top of Jabalcon, the mountain that dominates the area. You can drive to the top, and you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the lake and countryside.

The Sierra de Baza is a natural park. There is an information centre, good restaurant and bar and marked walks. There are also recreation areas scattered through the park with barbecue and picnic facilities.

Guests are provided with a list of suggested outings, from the superb, but virtually unvisited, castle at Calahorra to an opportunity to swim with the fish at 2 local thermal pools.

Mountain bikes are available to hire. 

Caniles is the nearest small town. It is about 5 km away and a pleasant bike ride or a good walk. There is an attractive square with a bar where you can sip your wine and join the villagers in the pastime of watching the world go by. If you speak a few words of Spanish you will find everyone wanting to chat! You can buy just about everything you need in Caniles, but for a wider choice Baza has supermarkets, a big market on Wednesday and a great range of small dress and shoe shops.

There is a good range of bars and restaurants everywhere, with amazingly low prices! 

There is a large swimming pool with terrace. The peace and tranquillity, the sound of birdsong and the wind in the trees will help you to relax and unwind. There is a covered terrace with tables and chairs outside the house which is perfect for outdoor eating You can walk or cycle for miles direct from Finca Lucia.

The country house comprises 6 bedrooms in total; 4 twin, 2 single, 4 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 10 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
