Situated amongst olives groves with amazing views down into the mountain valley is El Rincon del Viento – a creatively designed and luxuriously decorated villa on the outskirts of the spa town of Lanjaron in Las Alpujarras, Andalucia, Southern Spain.

The house is available to rent as a luxury holiday home and has 4 bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people in comfort. It is the ideal villa for those wanting a ‘get away from the crowds’ holiday, as the location is splendid, secluded and very peaceful.

However, when you require a bit more activity, the market town of Orgiva is just 15 minutes drive as is the lovely spa town of Lanjaron. And within 45 minutes you can be in Granada viewing the amazing Alhambra Palace or eating lobster on the beach in Salobreña. For those wanting even more exertion, the ski resort is just an hour away and walking into the high mountains of the Sierra Nevada including Mulhácen, the highest peak of Spain is also close by.

The landscaped gardens and large pool are a delight. There is even a small children’s pool for younger swimmers. The Villa is set in acres of grounds, all of which is available to explore. The countryside around is stunning with almond and olives trees in abundance.

It is a 4 bed-roomed villa that can sleep 8 people. There are three bathrooms plus a WC on the lounge level. Each bedroom has its own terrace with spectacular views of the gardens, the pools and the mountain valley.
 

For those wanting to venture from the Villa, the spa town of Lanjáron, with its healing and youth giving waters, is a 10-minute drive. The town’s Balneario is the place you can indulge in a whole range of treatments.

The Market town of Orgiva is close by and Chris Stewarts famous books ‘Driving over Lemons’, ‘A Parrot in a Pepper Tree’ and more recently ‘The Almond Appreciation Society’, have made Orgiva ever more popular. The town has a large market on a Thursday and a craft market at the campsite on the way to Lanjaron, every Sunday morning.

Both towns of Lanjáron and Orgiva have a good selection of shops, banks and restaurants.

In just 45 minutes you can be visiting the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada or taking in the city’s exclusive shops. Afterwards you can wander around the narrow ancient streets of the city’s Albaicin quarter for a feel how Granada used to be. The Cathedral sits grandly in the Granada’s city centre and is surrounded by the Moorish shops and lots of good quality restaurants and tapas bars. In Granada and Las Alpujarras, tapas are still usually given free when you have a drink, a tradition that has gone from many other parts of Spain.

A further 20-minutes up the mountain road from Granada is the Sierra Nevada ski resort . The resort usually opens to skiers from December until April. There are plenty of shops to hire ski equipment and a lively après ski scene.

In just 45 minutes from the Villa you can be enjoying a seafood lunch on the beaches of The Costa Tropical with its lovely resorts of Salobreña Almuñecar and La Herradura. For more peaceful and secluded sun bathing you can drive down the steep track to the nudist beaches of Playa Cantarriján just outside La Herradura.

If you require even more exertion, the high mountains of the Sierra Nevada including Mulhácen (the highest in Spain) and Veleta, it’s challenging neighbour. These can be conquered by catching a bus from from the white village of Capileira. The bus takes you to the Mirador de Trevelez. From here you can reach the peak of Mulhácen in three hours by foot. Many other mountain walks begin from the lovely white villages of Pampaneira , Bubion and Capileira. The villages can be reached by car from El Rincon del Viento in 30 – 40 minutes. There is also a bus that goes to the villages from Lanjaron.
 

El Rincon del Viento is situated in the Lower Alpujarras in Andalucia, Southern Spain. The Villa is available to rent as a holiday home and is in a secluded location on the outskirts of Lanjaron and Orgiva.

The location means the Villa is very quiet and away from any hussle and bustle of the Spanish towns. It is the perfect location for those wanting to ‘get away from it all’. The Villa is not overlooked and is very private.

The nearest Airport is Granada, approx. one hour’s drive away. Flights from the UK come from London Stansted, East Midlands and Liverpool with RyanAir. Malaga Airport is approx. 2 hours by car and there are many flights international flights coming and going daily.

Due to the secluded location of the Villa, it is recommended that you hire a car. In high season, car hire should be booked in advance. Many airlines have their own alliance with car hire companies and offer good rates.

There is a good local bus service from Lanjaron to Granada, the white villages and to the coast. Alsina Graells Sur run the services in Las Alpujarras and their good web site also has an English translation.

Andalucia has, on average, 320 days of sunshine a year and El Rincon del Viento in the Lower Alpujarras is no exception. The area can be susceptible to high winds. Summer days and lots and hot with the occasional welcome breeze. Spring and autumn bring with them the abundance of colour and warmth with sunny days and slightly cooler evening. Unlike the higher Alpujarras, snow is rare here however in just an hour and a half you can be skiing up in the high ski resort of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Full directions will be sent to you in advance of your arrival. You will be met and taken to the Villa on your arrival. The Villa is located 2.6 km down an un-made road. It is fine for normal cars but care must be taken. The meeting place will be confirmed and will be either Lanjaron or Orgiva depending on where you are coming from.

The Villa is available for the first time as a holiday home in the summer 2008. The prices are for the exclusive use for one week (7 nights and includes all linen and towels).




 

The villa comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 3 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 3 bathrooms and 4 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The villa has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a south facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside swimming.

Close to the villa you will find climbing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, historic sites, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, golf, tennis, a museum.
