A long, narrow lane leads to the cottage and takes you to a different world: one in which the loudest sounds are made by pheasants in the surrounding fields or the cormorants on the river. A recent guest says “just the sound of the birds and the breeze are the best soundtrack for a really relaxing break.” It is possible to see otters and salmon in the wild, and a huge variety of birds, while you unwind in this historic, comfortable house and riverside garden.
The recently redecorated cottage, which retains its traditional charm, will allow you to rediscover lifes simple pleasures. It would be difficult to find a more peaceful, romantic and secluded location for your holiday, it is perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, artists, fishermen and walkers.
All modern conveniences are provided. Bed linen and towels are included in the price, as well as household items such as cleaning products and basics for the kitchen. (List available)

We have just completed building a hide on the riverbank for watching otters, wildlife and birds.

You will find plenty to do nearby, if you can tear yourself away from the cottage. There are abundant beaches and coves to explore, mountains and hills to be climbed. Historic towns and castles to be visited and many a memorable meal to enjoy. There are plenty of opportunities to sample Irish culture as there are Irish music pubs and an Irish speaking area nearby.
 

 

 

The cottage is very comfortable and spacious with wood burning stove in the dining room and electric heating throughout. Recently renovated and tastefully decorated to preserve old world atmosphere with modern conveniences. The bathroom has a wet room shower and free standing bath. The brass beds under the thatched roof make for very restful sleeping. Well-equipped kitchen. Peaceful, well tended garden with access to riverbank.

The cottage comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 single and 1 cots. . This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The cottage has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use.

The cottage has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 5 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Well behaved pets are allowed, provided they are not allowed in the bedrooms, on the beds or furniture.

The cottage is in a very quiet area. It has a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, interesting views. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The cottage is right beside walking, cycling.

Close to the cottage you will find a beach, swimming, horse riding, historic sites, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the cottage you will find sailing, wind surfing, fishing, climbing, golf, tennis, a sports center, a zoo, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant.

It is such a beautiful spot and the cottage is chocolate box outside and very well equipped inside without loosing any of its charm. If I had to selec t one thing that could be better - I couldnt! The lane to it isinteresting and I wouldnt want to drive it in anything too wide or low."
