The village, a very old settlement from Venetian times, has kept its historic character and is being rapidly renovated as a unique vacation resort. Surrounded by wild countryside, gigantic rock formations and natural spring waters, has been famous from past times for its healthy, dry climate. The location is ideal, offering commanding views to the Libyan Sea and easy access to the sea.
Sandy beaches extend either to the northeast (the gulf of Mirabello), or to the southeast (Libyan Sea). At Kalo Chorio (ancient site “Istron”) are found two of the most famous beaches of Crete with azure waters, “Voulisma” and “Agios Panteleymon”, while east of Ierapetra extend kilometers of sandy beaches and small sea gulfs, among which the best are Agia Galini (next is Kakkos Bay Hotel, laid out in another beautiful gulf and open to the public), Agia Fotia, Ferma, Koutsounari etc. On the other side of Ierapetra the village of Myrtos offers also a beautiful, sandy beach.
 

This country mansion has been recently restored to its authentic prototype by its conservation architect owner The house is 185 m2, enclosing a 60m2 courtyard with a 100m2 top terrace. The house has been restored with exquisite details and is furnished with selected pieces from Neoclassical Greece and paintings of well known contemporary Greek artists. All rooms open either to the courtyard or the terrace and capture views of the sea (except of the smallest double bedroom) It can accommodate 8 persons, since it has 5 main rooms, three of which are double bedrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, a dinning room with two couch-beds, a spacious kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. In the courtyard will be installed, from May 2007, an open jacussi-spa/8 seats.
It can function as a spacious, unique house for a demanding family or for two families or friendly couples, as the bedrooms, accompanied by own bathroom, are laid at the ends of the house with reception areas in between.

The country house comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 2 single sofa beds located in the in the dinning room. This gives room for up to 8 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The country house has 2 bathrooms for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the country house cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The country house has television video, dvd. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio. A computer with Internet connection is also available for your use. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls and a fax machine.

There is room for 8 in the living room and 8 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this country house.

The country house is in a very quiet area. It has a east facing garden, a east facing patio area, sea views, panoramic views. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The country house is right beside walking, mountain biking, horse riding, a restaurant.

Within easy reach of the country house you will find a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a food shop.

The drive through the mountains each day was spectacular and the seaside village of Mitos just a few kilometers away is a wonderful place to relax on the beach and swim. The property is furnished to a high standard and is kept spotlessly clean and although the village of Anatoli has limited facilities, and is probably all the better for that, supermarkets and shops are just a short drive away. We will certainly be going back again."
