We have been travelling to Paphos and Cyprus every year for a number of years. Every year we would fall in love all over again with the relaxed charming Cypriot way of life and endless sunshine. The enormous variety and choice of activities; gently bronzing in the sun, swimming at a choice of beaches, bays and pools. Fresh, gourmet food in local tavernas and international restaurants. Ice-cream strolling on the beach at sunset. As well as the romantic elements (after all it is the birth place of Aphrodite). We also enjoy being more active such as taking walks in the Troodos Mountains and at the Akamas Peninsula, biking and mountain biking, and walking in general. The variety and quality of wildlife and in particular birds is spectacular.

Why Cyprus

The comfort of knowing that they have one of the lowest crime rates in Europe, a very low cost of living, and the ease with which it can be reached from England. We also enjoy Cyprus in all of the seasons especially spring and autumn when it is cooler and the wildlife is at its best.
 

The only thing we ever felt disappointed in was the fact that although we stayed in good hotels when in Cyprus, they lacked the space and facilities of a quality apartment. We missed having the option of a large fridge/freezer full of drinks, ice and fresh, local foods. Occasionally we wanted to dine at sunset/in the evenings on our own balcony and/or to relax in front of the TV/DVD on a comfy sofa. We wanted the space to have our friends and family to stay without having to share a bathroom. We wanted quality beds and fluffy towels. We also like having a huge pool (to do proper swimming to keep fit if we wanted to as most villa pools are too small for that). We also liked the choice of meeting friendly people when we felt socialable or just relaxing if we chose to.

We selected our apartment early on in the development process to ensure we could achieve the features we needed. Top floor sea views, marble kitchen surfaces and beautiful ceramics and mosaic tiles, quality appliances, a pressurized water system for powerful showers, solar hot water to take advantage of the local conditions, and enough space to unpack and not be cramped in. To feel like we were at home. We also wanted a full bathroom and additional ensuite showeroom for additional comfort. We liked the idea of having three balconies with different aspects for dining, reading or just relaxing and taking in the views.

 

We have always liked the atmosphere and variety of Paphos with plenty of facilities, restaurants and bars, and shopping as well as all the beaches and historical areas, combined with the ease of airport transfers. But we also liked the idea of staying in a smaller village with local character on the hillside overlooking Paphos, which has taverns, shops, banks etc but is minutes drive into central Paphos if necessary. (The area is also served by local bus routes into Paphos)

Chlorakas is the ideal location to us, as it is on top of a hill with commanding views and sea breezes, but with drier heat and lower humidity from the slight elevation. Perfect!

 

Panoramic views of hills and village, with extensive sea views. There are three balconies, including a utliity balcony off the kitchen, a main balcony for dining and relaxing and an additional balcony shared by both bedrooms. Baby items can be rented.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool.

The apartment has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 5 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The apartment is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The apartment is right beside swimming.

Close to the apartment you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, flying, walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, tennis, a sports center, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a themepark, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the apartment you will find climbing, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding.

Tsada, Secret Valley and Aprodite Hills golf courses.

A large selection of ancient and historical sites, beaches and villages to explore.

K & A says: "We decided at the last minue to go away and ended up in Cyprus. We were lucky enough to stay in a home away from home . We stayed in the apartment for two weeks with a three year old and found the facilities excellent. The apartment block was very peaceful and safe for young children. The area was quiet and very relaxed. The swimming pool was fantastic and kept us all entertained for the whole holiday. The well equipped kitchen and the satellite television and DVD player meant that we did not have to go out every evening. We hired a car through Avis and this meant that we could see more of the area. There is a good supermarket in Chlorakas and some good bars and restaurants in the village. "
