"THE HOUSE OF THE ROSES" is over 300 years old, it has recently been restored and it can now offer all modern amenities in addition to the intimate atmosphere of a medieval town.
Long ago, The House of the Roses stood in the keep of Vrsar castle. If we consider the many and varied adventures of Sir Giacomo Casanova (according to whose memoirs he visited Orsera (Vrsar) (LINK to http://www.istra.com/vrsar) , whilst it belonged to the Republic of Venice) it is quite possible that he did seek protection under the roof of this house. This could be the reason why the street where the house is located still bears his name.
Its present owner has continued the artistic tradition of Venetian times in a very particular and personal way and since Sasha is concert guitarist(LINK to http://www.sasadejanovic.com) ,the house is slowly becoming a meeting place for artists from different fields, Sasha also organizes a series of summer concerts entitled International Festival Guitaristra "The Sea & Guitars".
Located in the highest part of the town (65m) , 200m from the beach, The House of the Roses affords some spectacular views .
It is furnished throughout with Mediterranean style antique furniture. The House of the Roses offers 3 double rooms with individual baths, as well as a self-contained apartment comprising living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms (with fireplaces for the winter).
It's open all summer and is also available (subject to prior agreement) all the year round.
